so my phone is my mobile mp3 player, and it happens to organise albums etc from the tags on the mp3's.

at the moment i've been using winamp to modify the tags for cd's that aren't uniform and it's f***ing awkward as to use...

I too have been using winamp, also because its easy to attach album art etc.

Would be more than interested in something more efficient but still user friendly.

Downloaded a couple of free applications (via google search), went back to winamp pretty quickly though.

Mp3tag - http://www.mp3tag.de/en - is the f***ing bomb and the only app I have ever needed.

I've been using MusicBrainz Picard, which is great for tagging albums, but not so great for tagging individual files. It'll do them, but you can't really do it in the same batch way you would for an entire album.

I have been using Tag & Rename, lets me grab tags from file names and visa versa. Also lets me set multiple items to the same album, year, artist etc.

However Trogs looks pretty good also!

Finally got a new mp3 player and will be catching bus to work every day starting next month, so I will get back into the mp3 tagging i think cus my library is looking pretty unorganised and un-tagged.

i use foobar.. it's free & the mass tagger & 'automatically fill values from filename' functions are awesome.

Something I didn't mention before - Picard will do all of what others have mentioned above, but it's primarily for tagging from music fingerprints.

For those that have no idea what that means, it takes a file, analyzes the audio, then looks up the track name from an online DB.

I use Musicbrains Picard and mp3tag.

(I also use ONLY ID3 v2.3, v2.4 has multiple and different implementations)
