i have a samsung SH-S203D and some how my dvd drive became permanently set to region 1, meaning i can only watch region 1 dvds on it now. is there anyway to reset the counter or remove it altogether and make the drive region free? if not is there a proggy that will bypass the region lock and play the dvd?
cheers, |

^^ My guess is he's done that one too many times already since he said it's now permanent.
Try Media Player Classic. Just extract it somewhere & run it. You could always try RPC1.org or google for the specific model of you drive + rpc1 firmware. |

Great ...
As of January 1st, 2009, Slysoft will change its update policy from free lifetime updates to an annual subscription fee. All license purchases made before January 1st, 2009 will not be affected by this change; as promised, all licenses purchased before 2009 will still be honoured under Slysoft's free lifetime update policy. I bet you they'll eventually discontinue current products and create new ones (e.g. "AnyDVD Suite" - I just made that up) so they don't have to provide previous lifetime updates since it isn't the same product anymore. last edited by parabol at 01:02:36 27/Dec/08 |

No worries, it's a great program, I use it anyway so I can skip past those interminable anti-piracy ads at the start of all Australian DVDs. |

change its update policy from free lifetime updates to an annual subscription fee. I refuse to use any software that requires me to renew some license every year. I'll either just not use it or find a free alternative. I don't mind paying for an awesome piece of software and then perhaps a lesser fee for subsequent updates if they're worth it feature/bug fix wise but ONLY if it's a major version update (from v1 to v2 etc). No worries, it's a great program, I use it anyway so I can skip past those interminable anti-piracy ads at the start of all Australian DVDs. AnyDVD for the win. I've got a version that I've been using for years and it works flawlessly every time.
