Yes its more Rockband 2 hate.
What's the go with EA not at least releasing the Rockband 2 software in OZ ? Ok so bits of plastic are hard cos they don't fit in containers or whatever weak sauce excuse they have. But surely they can ship the game ? They have even got the game classified already ( here ). Dan or Steve got secret squirrel info ? Or is it just we are being used as EAs surplus store ? Kind of funny that the AC/DC track pack is offically priced for Australia (49.99 source) but not dated. |

Yeah if I knew when this was coming out I'd probably just not get Rock Band 1 at all. They have a import feature where you can pay $5 and just import all of the RB1 songs into RB2 provided you have the disc, I would just borrow it from a friend and do that instead of paying for both.
Oh wait, that's probably why they haven't announced a RB2 release date here yet :/ |

Nope no info :/
It's out in Europe/UK now and will run fine on an aus Xbox 360 so just import. (not the US x360 version though, cause it's region locked). PS3 owners can choose either. |

I assume its so they can sell us Rockband one for a while and then once sales drop off they can throw RB2 our way? I expect if both came out at once unless RB1 was heavily discounted, noone would buy it, surely. |

I'm pretty sure the marketplace stuff on 360 is region locked.
Speaking of Rock Band 1 though, has anyone seen it disc only for 360 anywhere? The flew places I've looked I can't find it. Big W, Target, EB |

I swear I saw this in one of the Christmas shopping catalogs, it had the drumkit, guitar and microphone.
Is there another rockband type rip off? last edited by rubba-chikin at 10:32:56 12/Dec/08 |

I finally got World Tour the other day. Damn fun but it needs more tracks. Also looking at the RB2 track list and there's quite a few from World Tour on there which sucks. And these are old tracks so what the hells going on? Are both companies swapping info because what's the chance that happening?
Hmm |

I quite like the songs at the start of World Tour, not so much the songs towards the end of the career and all those s***ty sets you have to pay in game dollars to play

Yeah, paying for gigs is f***ing stupid. It's not like I don't have the cash but wasting it on gigs means I have to spend more time going over s*** again to upgrade guitars and costumes and anything else that involves cash.

Or you know, they could have just released RB1 much, much earlier. It would be good if people in Oz just boycotted the products and teach greedy, greedy EA a minor lesson. |

I have World Tour and Rock Band game only (it was at EB). Rock Band has the better tracklist even without getting any DLC.

Yeah, I was gonna wait for Rock Band 2, thinking we might get it here the same time it came out in the UK (yeah, wishful thinking I know), but since that obviously didn't happen, I ended up ordering it from the UK. If anyone's interested I got it from http://www.game.co.uk , cost just over 40 pounds all up including delivery, so not too terrible.
Apparently EA has nothing to do with Harmonix's Beatles game so hopefully that means they're getting dropped as the publisher for future Harmonix stuff and we might actually get future stuff at the same time as the rest of the world. I live in hope. Is conent in the MS store for rockband 2 here ? Theres no real Rock Band 2 specific content, because all the DLC can be played in Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2, but there is a Rock Band 2 theme you can buy from the marketplace which I found ironic. |

So I am presuming if you've already bought the instrument pack with RB1 they all work with RB2?
Is there an RB2 pack that comes with the instrument controllers? |

Yeah khel,
But that question was more ... I am wondering if you bought the ac/dc track pack and entered the "download" code for previous versions if that would then give you ac/dc on a pal version. Cos harmonix is keeping to the plan of regionalising even the track packs, but people in the UK have downloaded the AC/DC track pack on their pal xboxs (by doing what I mentioned above) and the content works just fine aparently. |
