As per the subject - EB has been ringing pre-order customers this morning, but if you haven't heard (or didn't pre-order), then head on down and pick up a copy for your platform of choice. Worth checking out Eco-gamer for the cheapest price and use it to get EB to price match it.

Good luck!

They wouldn't sell me my collector's edition when I went in to pick it up, they were selling the normal ones, but wouldn't sell collectors till tomorrow. Dunno why I bothered getting the collectors one, now not only do I pay more for useless s*** I'll probably never use but I also get to wait another day before I can play it. Fantastic.

hmm would they price match the cd wow price of $51.95? or would they only price match stores?

and what the hell is with console games being more expensive than pc games? why cant they all be the same price?

From the Toowong store.

Khel - One of the guys I work with bought his (pre-ordered) CE whilst I was there. Disappointed the art book isn't bigger (I blame Blizzard for getting me used to nice big art books!), which is one of the main reasons I didn't buy the PC CE (that + $40 for a bobble head, lunchbox, art book & making of wasn't worth it).

Yeah glad CDWOW is selling things for under 60 AUD or close to. I don't care if it comes in late or whatever. Principle that all of these stores (especially EBGames) are ripping customers off who bought PC Games.

Wonder whatever happened to the days where PC Games in Australia were 79 or 69 dollars in price and it was capped at that. Oh no, we have to charge more. Americans prices for games are all 50 USD each why can't ours be more like that.

With prices like these:

Dead Space
Released 24/10/08
Third-person Shooter
Platform:Windows
$51.95

Unreal Tournament 3
Released 23/11/07
First-person Shooter
Platform:Windows
$42.95

Far Cry 2
Released 24/10/08
First-person Shooter
Platform:Windows
$51.95

Call Of Duty: World At War
Game
Released 14/11/08
First-person Shooter
Platform:Windows
$57.95

EBGames can get the f*** off and go the f*** home.

Who are CDwow anyway? Selling stuff that cheap just doesn't quite strike me as totally legit.

Lol. I was in there this morning hopeing somewhere broke street date.
O well I'll pick it up in an hour or 2. Hooray.

I paid $79 for it, JB HIFI are selling it at that price. Suits me fine.

See you all later after I get disapointed by the lack of isomeric gameplay and realise it is oblivion with guns!

Thanks rav. Wiki to the rescue once more!

Shame there's too many awesome games due out between now and the end of the year. Damn blizzard for actually appearing like they'll release Wrath on time and not have to delay it for a couple of months.

O its average, it leaves a little ghosting after you turn it off, blast it with static for 10 mins and its mostly gone, next morning its completely gone.

Played a few hours at a time of TF2 on it.

Yeah I got Far Cry 2 from cdwow today, and was surprised to see it was the aussie version but sent from Hong Kong... How is this cheaper than buying locally? IT IS MADNESS!

Played it for about 4 hours.

Does it keep the same feeling as the previous Fallouts? Sadly no. It is lacking in the wit and humour that was abundant in Fallout 1/2. Fallout 3 does have its moments, but they are just moments.

The characters voices are good and decently acted, however the actual character model is SOOOOO lifeless. Someone REALLY needs to let Bethsada know that a lot of a characters emotion is in the face. They seem like they have been heavily Botoxed and no longer have functional face muscles.

O And the movement animations are confusing. You wonder why Bethsada would sink so much time and $$$'s into a game and not bother to bring the Animations up to a high standard. I went running along with a town sheriff to hunt someone down, and we had to go down a hill. Well I actually laughed out loud because he fully looked like he was skipping along. Think Chuck Norris skipping (not that he would because his bounces would split the Earth).

Those two issues aside though, the story line seems good so far, I went on a side mission and the outcome was unexpected. I'm playing a Good guy.

The landscape is excellent, it feels a little depressing at the lifelessness of the wasteland. Which is great (feeling good about feeling depressed? yup).

Anyway I'll be playing it lots in the coming days, even with the problems of below par animations and lifeless character faces.

Feels very Fallout to me, and I've found plenty of humorous stuff. Maybe you're just expecting it to be something its not, or maybe you're looking back with rose coloured glasses :P

O it does have a bit of humour in it. I've laughed at the bits'n'pieces. I was just a fan of the satyr and pop culture stuff of the first Fallouts.

I like VATS even though my very first use of it gave me a superclose up of my butt while I shot at a radroach.

Still, you have to admit the animations are dodgy, specially running. Also the faces of the characters are lifeless.

Yeah, the animations are at times a bit dodgy, and characters do at times still have a tendency to ice skate, but its easy for me to overlook any minor gripes like that when I knock off someones head with a baseball bat in slow motion.

Yer that is fun, the VATS is great. I was scared for the first 2 or 3 kills with it because it was dodgy as, bad clipping and whatnot. All good now though.

It seems to work much better (as in, the angles the camera chooses to view the action from are better) in open areas than in tight closed in areas, but thats to be expected. Like I got some pretty retarded angles when I was using it in the vault, but since I got out, its been sweet. Its very hard to pick a camera angle in a tight enclosed space though that isn't clipping through something.
