This is a follow-on from the things you love / hate in life. I don't have as many toys as I would like but I am trying to dent a huge mortgage so get to play less. I'm sure a few of the 6-figure single IT lads have some better materialistic items.

So tangible, luxury items you could do without but are glad you splurged on.

My list:

* 42" bravia. Only 720p but after I had optic neuritis there's no way I can see 1080p anyway :p
* HTPC. I love this thing! Great for my medias. Wanna get a blu-ray drive and tuner card too.
* Surround sound setup. The receiver could be better but it still sounds good!
* Electric Tools. Until recently I hadn't realised how much fun these are.
* Laptop. My M1530 is a nice blend of portability and performance.
* Wii + heaps of legit games. This only BARELY made it to my list. I'm a bit meh on the Wii these days.
* Data Projector - how could I forget you?! Awesome for movie nights.

To-Do:

* Boat. I don't really like fishing much but a day on the water is just fun.
* Motorbike. I haven't had a bike for 5(?) years since I gave my old RG to the old man.
* New car. Not really happy with what we have, but I can't stand car finance so stuck with em for now.
* Cainer gaming PC. With the work laptop doing ok for this, its a real luxury but it would be nice to have a really kick arse system.
* Musical instrument. Maybe keys. Learning to play something is on my to-do list in the next 10 years.

So what have you lot got / want?

My Stuff:
XPS 1730 Laptop - Don't game on it, but the option is there! The keypad rocks :D
Bravia Home Theatre (40' screen, surround sound etc)
HTPC - Love my theatre setup, speakers could be better, but is awesome for watching 720p eps :D And even HD tv is pretty nice. Just got a bluray drive only to discover it needs 256 of video memory :| (Anyone got an old vid card?)
My full 1tb drive of my tv collection from the past 8 years and my music collection (180gig)
98 Camry - This car has taken me EVERYWHERE! Had it for like over 4 years now, Just had all the dints beaten out and a new coat of paint on it, and it looks schmick.

Thats about all my e-peen can handle right now :Þ

Stuff I want:
HOUSE - f***ing painful watching them go up in value (debatable) when you don't have one
New Car & Stereo (with aux in)
New phone (n96!) (First on the list)

To be fair, the Bank owns most of the house at the moment.

Oh, Camping/Skiing gear too. And the very little Scuba gear I own (Have to hire most of it)

Well, theres all the stuff you'd expect, my PC, my consoles, my sweet TV, but after getting so into Rock Band and loving the drumming so much I started getting a few lessons and really getting into it (for real) and just got myself these:

http://www.allansmusic.com.au/images/products/KTD9KXS.jpg

Roland TD-9KXS Vdrums, with sexy mesh heads :) A full acoustic kit isn't really an option for me living where I do, but these are pretty sweet, tried them out in the store first and they were fantastic. Still waiting for them to be delivered, but yeah, thats my newest thing thats rad :P

My KTM 450 EXC :) Finally upped some pics from a little local run near a mates house in Forest Lake which used to link up with Browns Plains but nearly all is gone, only the end bits still left but even they are quickly diminishing.
Really nothing left, this is the Forest Lake end which is really flat nothing to it, Browns Plains side is much better and bigger but also shrinking rapidly.

Golden VL commodore wagon with superlow king springs, monroe shocks, a stereo worth 4x the cost of the car, an exhaust leak and a misfire that just won't die.

Not to mention the body is about 10x stronger than new cars. Foudn this out after a little reversing accident I once had where my car broke a rear plastic light cover and the other car, an Aurion, had a huge deformation in the front bumper).

Cost me 10 bucks off ebay to fix. The bad part was the 1500 bucks to fix their car... f***!

f*** yeah Fn, good job. I'd love one of those. Best toy in this thread by far.

I have kids and house so no loot for fancy toys, but I don't really care.

In no particular order (except this first one):

House - bought as a renovator for 'cheap' 7 years ago. It's just starting to suck some cash out of us now as we're doing it up in stages.

My Bose Stereo connected to the Puter (thanks Dad!) love cranking da tunes.

Our new king Size bed - a good bed is awesome.

Our new cook-tops and oven (well the whole new kitchen in fact)- after 7 years of using a 40yo clunker stove and having curtains as cupboard doors - this baby rocks.

Nikon D40 - Great DSLR that is fun to use and takes awesome photos. Never underestimate a good camera, especially if you have kids or travel etc.

We get much more enjoyment and benefit out of household type items rather than 'toys'. Although I would like Fn's KTM :)

Yeah, we paid $182k for it in Mid 2001. Now way we could afford to buy it now.

And I HIGHLY recommend a King Size bed. although they are only 1' wider, the difference feels like 1 metre wide.

I too was a victim of bed hogging but that is now a thing of the past!

Yeah something to do with cushioning the impact and other various things. But it costs a f***load to fix. As in my example...

Not even the bulbs broke. Only the plastic cover of the rear left light :D 10 mins and $10 bucks later I'd ordered the exact replacement part to fit myself off eBay. Easily done..

Not horrible inside anymore.

Just had it repainted (except two bedrooms which will be done soon), floors sanded and polished and a new kitchen put it. All the electrics were done as well. We replaced the roof (and put in insulation) about 5 years ago. The bathroom, while servicable, isn't overly flash. We plan to do this in a year or so.

The exterior needs painting and it does need restumping and back stairs need replacing, but we're putting this off as we may build out underneath in future.

Compared to when we bought it and moved in, it's a palace.

As for new cars and folding bumpers, I once tried to push my VR with my ute, the entire front bumper caved in on the VR but sprung back out again when I backed off. Stupid bloody modern cars and their crumple zones.

I don't really have anything that I would consider rad, I'm boring :(
