AdelaideNow reports the $250,000 Ferrari was found wrapped around a pole after “zinging” through a residential area. http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,6321874,00.jpg http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,6321869,00.jpg http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,6321875,00.jpg A witness identified only as Vlado said: "I was outside my house talking and we heard something fly up and it was this black Ferrari. It sounded just like, 'zing, zing", as it went past." Afterwords they were reported to go to KFC for some zinger burgers, while zinging along to "Aerosmith - Zing for the moment" |

Young people these days need to watch Ferris Bueller to learn of the hazards of taking a Ferrari that doesn't belong to you.
Bit of a tragedy of a thing to happen to a fine car, but because neither of them were killed I think it's fine to laugh our asses off at them right? |

Meh... While the kid looks like a d*******, I'm sure the parent doesn't care... If they can afford a ferrari, they can probably afford another :D

You know what would be better photos than those? Photos of the meeting between the dad and his son. Yeah I can imagine it now. Thank god your alive son, you were lucky to walk away from that alive. But next tme be a bit more careful hey? I can always buy another ferrari, but can't buy another son. Oh, and you can only drive said cheaper car (only $100k) now for the next 3 years? |

The engine would still be good, cause its in the back.
Was he a P Plater? Is it just QLD that has the limits on car power for L and P Platers? |

Least the steel lamp post or whatever that thing was in between the front sections survived the crash. |

Power lines can fall as much as they want if you're already dead from the impact!~#!#

In NZ they only have cement power poles, that looks like that.
I always thought a cement pole was a bit wierd :/ |

A similar sized wooden pole would do the exact same damage to a Ferrari.
The Stobie poles are somewhat thinner then your standard QLD power pole though, to provide a better cutting edge as it seems. PowerPoles are designed to be way too close to the back of Kerbs IMO, but i'm not a Traffic/Lighting/Service Engineer, so my opinion apparently doesn't count. Just like me saying how retarded the new High-Angle entry into Kingston Road, from Paradise, was swept under the rugs. Blame Main Roads for that one. |

LMAO news.com.au journalism...
The main attention grabbing article paints the picture that it is some 18-25ish year old who took his parents car, yet if you read the Adelaide newspaper article the story came from... The driver, aged in his 30s, and his passenger were treated in Royal Adelaide Hospital for minor injuries. |

that's what i thought teq, but i wasn't sure
well, perhaps there's a bit to be said for front-engined cars when it comes to an impact like that, yes? |

How can it be safe to have those indestructible posts on the side of the road?!? Normally you are meant to drive on the road, not beside it. Isn't it also dangerous to have footpaths anywhere near the road as well, considering the risk pedestrians face of walking blindly onto it? |
