Topic: What monitor for my needs?

I'm after a 20-22in wide screen lcd monitor for 2D/3D cad work and movies - no games. It'll be attached to my laptop so I'll need some DVI-to-analog converter presumably? Only going to be using it for 10 months as I'll be leaving the country after that. Hoping someone in the know can advise me on the best value-for-money solution as umart/msy have too many to choose from.

Cheers

edit: BENQ T221W looks the biz, any thoughts?

Both of my LCD's (one samsung one asus) have VGA and DVI plugs on them so you most likely won't need a converter.

I'm using a BenQ T2200HD at the moment. It's sweet because it's 1920x1080 pixels (22" monitors are normally 1680x1050)

I'll never buy another BenQ EVER. I've had 2 really bad experiences with warranty work and I'm over them. I will only buy Samsung now.

I've only ever had good experiences with BenQ. They're not the best looking panels IMO, but they're solid for the price. Also, every single one I have ever encountered (as in bought for myself, work or a friend) has included both a VGA and a DVI cable. That's pretty cool of them IMO.

I have a Dell 2407WFP whatever the f*** it is and some Asus 22's. The asus 22's were much cheaper but are f***ING s***. Blurry, bad colours and one's got a dead pixel. My dell is gorgeous.

^^My boss has a dell monitor that has lines all through it and is pretty f***ed up but dell won't honour the warranty :(

I'll agree on asus monitors being s***, don't much like mine but it does for games/tv. Trouble is when I looked at it beside a samsung in the store the samsung looked more s*** so I don't know if it was just the way it was set up but the asus had better colours and a sharper picture. Think I'll go back to CRT.
