Topic: Bluetooth headset for gaming?

I've had a look on the umart site, but I'm not convinced that they have what I'm after. I want some kind of headphone and mic thing that will be wireless. I figure bluetooth would be good since I already have that in my computer. But might it be cheaper to get something with a base station thing?

At any rate I don't even know if these are appropriate for gaming, or where to get one at a decent price. Should I bother trying JB Hi Fi for something like that?

The one on umart I thought might be good said you need to plug it into the 3.5mm mini jack, so that means I need to put a receiver somewhere, instead of just using my existing bluetooth. But maybe they're all like that?

I think all gaming grade type stuff would have a receiver, especially if it's a 2-in-1 charger for the headset.

But I don't know s*** :) was just an observation

That one looks pretty good, it just has a charger cord instead of the receiver/dock thing.

Does anyone think it would suck for tf2 or anything?

I use a $20 Logitech headset I got from MSY for TF2, the mic is perfect.

It's got like a 3m cord with volume/mic control on it.

Cheap alternative.

Be careful with bluetooth. It can have lag.

Yeah the cord is a pain though... the number of times I have pulled a beer off my desk because I've got up to go to the toilet and failed to take off my headphones :(

The cord is massive, my box is on the ground and I plug into the back and there's still a meter of slack... don't know if that factors in but it's been the easiest headphone cord to deal with.

Dunno about wireless but they often say that the beyer dynamic DT234pro and DT231pro's are the best bang for buck gaming headphones.

After a lot of looking I never found any both ear headsets with mic that are bluetooth, the Blue Ant is the first I've seen and if it does switch to mono when you use a mic then it would seem that the bluetooth bandwidth just isn't big enough for stereo output plus mono input.

I'll tell you why it happens, because in TF2 you only have 10 seconds to take a piss when you die, and if you take too long in the can they kick you off the server...
