I quickly checked out the demo of this last night, its pretty awesome.
Its a bit of a platforming type thing where the game lets the player manipulate time. So if you die, you hold down X and rewind time until a you think you've reached a safe point. The catch is though that each world reacts differently to time. There are a lot of in-jokes, and shout-outs to the mario games. with goomba-esque enemys, pipes, pirranha plants, but you should finish at least the first world in the demo for the best one. Its very well designed visually, the art style is a great way of pushing the hardware for a 2d platformer. All the sprites have a hand painted quality, and the tiles of the levels mold into each other so it has a very organic feel. It looks pretty amazing in HD. CHECK IT OUT. http://braid-game.com/ "Braid is an ingenious and startlingly creative puzzle game, built with an understanding of good game design that even some of the industry's most revered figures could learn from." |

Isn't this the game everyone is crying about costing 1200 points?

I played the demo a week ago and could not figure out what all the online fuss was about, it just seemed like a puzzle platformer with a slight twist.
On Saturday I figured well "the whole internet can't be wrong?" and bought the full version; I think the full version is great and I'm definitely glad I made the purchase. The demo contains the first world, which unfortunately is easily the least interesting so if you were put off by the demo like I was - but like the idea of a puzzle platformer - its worth the purchase IMO. 1200 points (about AU$20) seems perfectly reasonable, it looks like a heap of effort went into this game. |

I got it a few weeks ago, it's a great game but it makes me want to beat my head against a wall when I get stuck.
