...
I was told recently that I haveto take time off soon to rest and replenish.. blah blah blah. So I'm going to the snow for a week in late August (conveniently enough the same month that all the super awesome people in life are born!). that said - a little birdy mentioned to me that the Victorian skifields are now using Class A Recycled Water for snow-making. someone please tell me it won't be recycled poo... *edit* now with 100% more link.. and yeah it's not fit for human consumption. |

stay away from the yellow / brown snow, most often it's fresh not recycled.

So you are worried about water that has been through 7 filters. But water that has drizzled through cow pats, through the pesticide riddled whatever into a dam with fish s***ting, pissing and fornicating in it is fine.

Going to the snow is hardly relaxing, unless you plan to sit around in your cabin infront of a fire. But even just walking down the street in snow and on icey slopes is a huge chore, unless you are really fit I guess...

Why are you after a click in setup?
You own click in boots? It doesnt matter what stance you have for a board. You just point the bindings in the other direction. |

yeah - definately need a holiday. Insanely long days are getting to me atm.
the point I failed to make was that Victoria's Class A water is not fit for human consumption, but the PDFs on the MtHotham webby says it's mmmkay. I can appreciate that water is in short supply in Vic, and they're doing some great work recycling for crops, but I don't feel that it should be used for snow production. Kids eat this stuff - tons of it. I know my brothers and I did when we were kiddies. Anyways - this is a first-time run of it so we'll see how it all goes. Threadbo ftw =) last edited by koopz at 19:22:01 22/Jul/08 |

*edit* now with 100% more link.. and yeah it's not fit for human consumption.neither is man-made snow that's not made from class A recycled water - and unless the documents you linked to are lies or wrong, there's nothing for you to be concerned about |

I think the only thing you need to worry about with recycled water is hormones since sewage is full of estrogen. The treated product has only microscopic amounts but apparently it's a pretty potent hormone and even small doses can have an effect.
So if you find yourself blubbering like a girl about your feelings after you have a stack it might be a good idea to man up and have a beer before continuing skiing. |
