Wow, it just starting raining marble-sized hail at my place. My whole lawn is covered in them, fully looks like it's snowed or something. So many cars are getting trashed right now.. and windows and anything outside for that matter :/

Sunnybank Hills. It's really really bad, I can't see any green on my lawn. Seems to be settling down a bit now.

Obligatory BOM warning

http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDQ20038.html

For people in parts of the
Southeast Coast Forecast District.

Issued at 2:56 PM Tuesday, 29 November 2005.

At 2:55 PM , Bureau of Meteorology weather radar detected severe thunderstorms near Greenbank. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. Severe thunderstorms are forecast to affect Logan City and Woodridge by 3:25 PM and Beenleigh and Slacks Creek by 3:55 PM .

Large hailstones, damaging winds, very heavy rainfall and flash flooding are possible.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Central Coast & Whitsundays Forecast District.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES in your local government area, listed in the White Pages under either State Emergency Service or your local council.

The next warning is due to be issued by 3:55 PM.

This warning is also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate this warning being broadcast regularly.

Yeah, was just on a bus that came through Sunnybank and I must have come through just after it finished, because everything looked like it does in Rips' photos. All down mains road from the calamvale hotel almost to pinelands, it was like it had snowed, pretty crazy.

i would just like to point out that a_w's first post was more intelligent than astroboys first post (though not by much), and a_w didnt spend a whole 5 minutes making some try hard insult-pic.

Hail that covers the ground like snow. 2nd time it happend like this in places it shouldnt this year.

Expect more. The world is changing and changing fast. I say, bring it on, teach us humans a lesson we hopefully wont forget..

nah, apparently there weren't that many falling at a time. the person who told me about it thought it was a meteor shower cos they were falling at such widely spaced intervals heh
