The Narnia series has sold over a hundred million copies, and is considered as a series a 20th century literary masterwork by most serious scholars (although not at the time).
Narnia is a very well written children's tale studied in Universities around the world because of its strong symbolism and thematic content. If you are a discerning reader you would be better off picking up something by Lewis, than a modern popular work like Gemmel's Drenai series - which while a lot of fun is not exactly high literature. |

I just watched the entire film and OMG it is one of the best movies i have ever seen, and it stays really close to the book, with only a few ommisions and changes, well worth watching. It actually does bring justice to the book, A+ 10/10 w00t much

I heard they were going to do the whole series... to tie up little minds for several more years, and keep the parents like me that read them dragging their kids along.
I think they have started with the Lion the Witch and the wardrobe as it is the most ubiquitous, to suck children and parents who haven't read it. It is still going to be sweet... I think they have already started shooting on the prequel "The horse and his boy" Edit: sorry sequel, the version of the series I read had this as the prequel, weird. last edited by Devil Child at 18:20:38 15/Dec/05 last edited by Devil Child at 18:20:45 15/Dec/05 |

meh, i saw it and wasn't good as i had hoped. first 40 min or so i thought were good then it just turned downhill. to LoTR ish for me when its supposed to be a kids movie. seems every movie now has to have some epic war with 100000s of people on the screen at once. LoTR did it well but this movie doesn't IMO. lots of wierd stuff happens in it to that makes you think WTF, did i miss something? like how 3 kids go from... uh... kids (i guess) into warriors parrying sword attacks, blocking with shields and killing minotaurs and s*** in less than a few days. save your money. if you MUST see it... well im sure you know what im getting at.

well i just thought it was stupid the way they did it but i guess for the sake of finishing the movie in just over 2 hours they couldn't of spent a long time on their training.

This movie looks s***house!! read the write up...
"...enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide-and-seek..." "...discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch..." WTF!!! |

Well there is your answer. It probably has the most aspects of the world of Narnia nicly wrapped into a little package that shows people new to it all what it is all about, setting them up for further movies? Who knows. Enjoy it anyways. |
