Anyone know of a website where I can get a quote on a custom holiday?

I want to find out an approx cost of a trip which would span a few countries and use both train and plane.

I don't have the time to drop into an agency at the moment

I'm sure if you rang a travel agent they'd email or fax you back a quote

www.sunloverholidays.com.au

They only handle domestic holidays in Australia. But you can select packages, specify numbers airfare and accomodation. Its easier to ring them. They offer some good deals.

IF your going international, call flight centre.

Harvey World Trvael will do it by phone - just tell them where you want to go and they put together a package. They will do just travel, or they will do travel AND accommodation. Basically they will tailor it to your needs.

just go to their website and then get in touch with a consultant.

most other agencies do this also, but Harvey are the best.

you wont find a website that you can plan complicated itinerarys on.

if your after domestic (prefferably qld) call me on 13 88 30 and you will get the QTC (qeeensland travel centre) which is the direct arm of Sunlover Holidays.

tiny you dont work for them do you or know someone who works there..

Kat one of the people on here is a flight centre agent in bulimba i think... u could email her with what you want.

also i do know that Flight Centres do email quotes but dont waste their time unless your actually going to go. making people do quotes for travel in a few years time is worthless just grab a few brochures and work things out urself.

it's often cheaper to plan your trips yourself.

every backpacking trip I've done through Asia, Europre, Middle East I've only booked my initial journey and my return journey. from there I just organise as I go and it's way cheaper, especially in Asia.

That's the thing. I don't want to waste anyones time because I am not ready to travel at this time.

Not to worry, I will see how I go with individual flights.

Thanks

If it's just pie in the sky stuff you're probably well served if you just find a random (popular) forum (somethingawful for example) and post your proposed itinery and ask the people to relate to you their experiences both costwise and the difficulties/tricks they found.

what countries and for how long? (hosteling, cheap food and transport)

usa / canada budget $40-50 us a day
western europe / scandinavia about €50 a day.
eastern europe €35 a day.

I actually have just found a new site I didnt know about, it does the whole world, not sure how comparable it is to the local web deals (Travel agents) in Australia.

I would prefer you book through flightcentre (as I have shares - and they suck at the moment) however, the search engine on this site is pretty legit.

http://www.cheapoair.com

Travel agents are useful for booking additional s***, and will lose money on the air ticket to sell you hotels, hire cars, insurance, where they get higher commissions, so keep the big picture in mind if you are having a 'luxury' holiday (it benefits you and them)... otherwise for cheap travel (hostels, YHA type tours), book your flight online and then rock up or pre-(ring/email)bookings for the rest of your travels...

Kat, just call flight centre, HW travel or sta and let em know u are just looking for quotes. then when one of them gives u a decent price and a sort of itinery, email the price back to teh other 2 and get it cheaper as they start a bidding war. we saved over $500 on our rnd the worlders this week by doing that.

I agree with spidz. Also i avoid FC on principle, for their lies and false advertising.

If doing Europe, you are much better to just get a cheap flight to london and back, and book the rest out of there (the market is very cutthroat so you will get big savings), or for Asia, hit Bangkok and book from there.
