so I am going to India in November and came across this cult, maybe a little outdated, but if you ever wanted to know the origins of the word Thug... here ya go... Thuggee cult

So how I came across this, well I was looking up the good ol' wikipedia for Natural Disasters death tolls and it came under "human sacrifice" which said that they killed roughly 2 million people between the 13th to 19th centuries... My calculations may be a little hazy but I guess we can be safe in assuming Kali aint coming for awhile!?

Anyway, I digress, what I was originally going to post was how much news coverage and hype the hurricanes have recieved in the US (among other places) when in the grand scheme of things, they are a natural disaster, s*** happens, it'll happen again, loss of life sucks, BUT it could have been worse (I dont think the Indo Tsunami got this much coverage). The media need to stop super sensationalising and dramatising the issue like it is the end of the world. The only news I can stand to watch in America (besides the Jim Lehrer hour) is "the Daily show with Jon Stewart" that is on the COMEDY Channel, and it still provides more newsworthy material then maintstream news networks!! grrrrrrr!!

Jon Stewart rocks. The media are biased and have agendas. People kill for stupid reasons. America and Australia will soon be crushed by the almighty power that is China (holy crap they have a lot of people).

Also Indiana Jones and the temple of doom got me to researching a while back so i read up about the thuggee, some of the signs they use to see who should be killed and who should be left to walk by on the road were pretty crazy.
Like if a bird should fly overhead and call out when they saw a traveler he was allowed to pass unhindered.
