Im picking up a new P910 from optus tommorow, was thinking about putting msn on it, just for something to do. I was wondering how much data this chews on an average, or how it calculates data.

I know some of you have it on your phones, so if you could give any insite , that would be good.

also if anyone has some sites for free symbian applications :)

I found the problem with GPRS to be that i was constantly getting disconnected. I was hoping i could just stay online all day, and whenever i got msg'd it'd just display the msg. That's not the way it worked for me. Every time i went to see who was on my MSN it'd have to re-connect to GRPS service which takes in the vacinity of 20-30 seconds (well that's what it seems).

Also the price is a killer. With very little activity on my phone, just checking webmail and a page or two a couple of days was over $100 in gprs charges

I'd happily pay $20-30 a month on top of my excessive mobile bills to look up websites whenever i need to, get constant IM and glance at my webmail while at work, but that's not possible with current rates on personal plans, not by a long shot.

From the bottom of your link
^ Mobile Internet usage while roaming on GPRS in 3’s Broadband & Messaging Zones will be charged at 0.4¢/KB and is not included in the Cap or within included usage
That's $4 a MB which is the problem.

I've been using a program called eMSN. Admitedly, I have a k750i so its not really as powerful as a p910. But it didnt even need GRPS, thats the sweet thing. It was just using my default vodafone live access, which meant I dont think it really cost me very much at all.

The interface was pretty crappy, but it did the job.
