Hey guys been getting this stupid error with HL2/CS Source since the lastest update seems its broke my Zombie Hord fun wondering if anyone else is getting this stupid error?

click that 'view technical report' button and google/post what you get. that error message seems to be the most general one imaginable

yer mine is also shat it self there seems to be alot of people with problems since the resent update ... tons of people complaining in the steam forums

I love the Source Engine's licensing brochure.

Ignoring the fact that it falsely shows off a screenshot of a scene that was pulled from HL2 before release, let's look at the cost of obtaining a license for the engine:

Why an NDA? Are there heavy royalties involved?

In contrast, let's look at id software's very much public licensing scheme.

It costs nothing to sell Quake/Quake2 derived games as long as you include the source code of the binaries. Otherwise it's a flat fee of $10K with no royalties for the right to not release the source. Quake3 is $250K with royalties.
