It looks like computer games are gaining status in Singapore. Some guys had thier 2 year national service deferred so they could compete at some computer game :P I bet Fish wishes they were doing this when he went through national service ;]

I bet his dad was/knew someone in the government & pulled some strings.
for example if i recall correctly, among other things, when the ex-ex-prime minister's (old fart refuses to retire and now calls himself minister mentor) son (current prime minister) was in the army they brought along a porta-potty for him whenever he had to go out into the jungle during boot camp! what i do wish is that they reduced the term from 2.5 years to 2 years BEFORE i enslited. |

Lee Kuan Yew cracks me up. Is it true that he was the one behind the chewing gum ban? I heard that it got banned because he stepped in some. Probably just a rumor though.
