A few of the guys from this site got in on the last group buy of the Dell 24" Widescreen LCD's, so I thought I'd let you know that another buy has rolled around.

Have a gander at http://bulkbuyer.com.au and put in an order if you wanna save some $'s on 19" or 20" & 20" or 24" Widescreen LCD Monitors.

Qmass, we're taking orders until Sunday, if we've got 100 TOTAL orders by then we'll be taking payment all next week and delivery would start after that.

So not to long a wait.

Some good bargains there thats for sure..the 16ms/20ms response times concerns me with such WS and ghosting in games and DVD and such.

I wish someone would do the same type of deal with Samsung, they have just released a very sexy looking monitor with a 4ms response time..

Don't worry if you miss it, dell seems to have 20% off regularly, then you chuck in the easy to find student discount, and the price comes to ~$1340, so its nothing to cry about if you miss the bulk buy. But if you want one right now, then yeah looks like a decent deal.

those 2 photos couldn't be any more different, complete contrasts, you two should move into together and be like the odd couple, one messy, one clean

I had the 24" at first, but my proximity to the screen was such that I actually had to look around with my head to take everything in :p so I traded down to the 20" and got a 17" for wifey.

I certainly miss the 1920x1200, 24" for every day applications and watching moofies, but the 1680x1050, 20" is still great and in games I don't get so much whiplash in my neck ;)

I remember that Moth from UQNGA (if anyone remembers that LAN) got 2 of these things for himself. Would love to see that desktop setup!

oh, and if there is another product out there that you'd be interested in, just sign up for the site and post it in the forums and we'll see how may like-minded types there are (and if there's enough we'll arrange a deal).

and we could make a sitcom out of it. pity though, i wish i had the cash to spare for the 24" lcd... infact, my new camera fund was pwned by my wisdom teeth extraction.

I dunno I just like CRT's, Love my Sony 19 inch and its still going strong after 5 yrs of heavy use. I am eyeing off one of these next. I know it aint all slim and such but 1600x1200 at 104hz is the thing that appeals to me a lot.

Love my Sony 19 inch

Trinitron screens for the win!

I got one of these 21" babies off ebay for $180 + $60 postage. It's almost got the same viewable area as the 22" you posted (smaller by 0.2")

When you use a 17/19" for an extended period of time and come back to it, you can't help but think "holy f*** this is huge!!". Though due to lack of deskspace and an inability to move it anywhere by myself (32kg), I'm forced to sell it soon :(

Yeah your average gamer has a spare 1300 bucks! arrr omg your just teasing me with all this hot looking technology i can't afford. :'(. IF they had a 17 inch deal i would get in, but the 19 inch is just to much for me. The perils of being a full time working student.

and MRwolf ROFL last time you posted on QGL was to advertise your LAN, pay for some advertising! and stop spamming :P.

Yeh mine is a rebadged Dell as well. Have you got the Dell driver .inf files?, I have the Dellmon utility from all thos eyears ago and whenever I upgrade my Dets I have to re-install the Dellmon drivers because windows just keeps seeing it as a 'default monitor' That might be your prob . mail me and I can send you the Dellmon drivers if you want to see if your monitor is listed in the driver list.

Hey Tiny, you don't need to pay for it... convince Mr Taxman to give you some extra $'s to cover it. :) And just cause I don't post here often doesn't mean ti don't check this site as often as most others do. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few still on this site that actually remember what it was like to go to a QGL event. *sniff* oh the musk of that room full of sweaty, un-kempt geeks *tears*

But back on topic...

Dafugg, they are awesome for gaming (from experience obviously) and the reviews back that up alll the way.

We've nealry got 40 orders and we only need to make it to 100 for this to happen, so if anyone is keen then get into it. Alternatively, if there is a different product you like then post on the forums if enough ppl are similarly minded then we'll try and arrange a deal for you.

bah this websites seems down

I just realised that sli 7800gtx's doesn't support dual monitors, so my dual 172x's is useless now and I can't see myself going back to one monitor. But one of these might be the goer.

[21/09/05] - The order requirements have been reached and the site will be experiencing some modifications to prepare for the purchasing phase of this deal that will become available Thursday morning, Sept 22.
Haw, really after one of these, just need to wait on some pay to go through :( how much longer do you think this offer will be available? (MrWolf?)

We've been having some hosting issues (anyone recommend a GOOD and RELIABLE web host that's not gonna take my first born for a deposit?) but the site is stable now.

We're taking orders/payments until close of trade (5pm-ish) on Monday, Sept 26. As long as you're in by then you'll be included in the deal. We're pushing Dell to extend the offer for another week, but they're being difficult atm. Will post here if we get an extension though.

We ended up with something like 180 orders in the system, so it's most certainly going ahead.

Anyone else read the write up on this 'bulk buying' practise in this Months APC mag. Interesting to read retailers points of view on the issue of groups getting together for bulk purchases.
