Topic: Is Spring Hill still dodgy?

Been thinking of new places to live, I don't mind the look of Spring Hill - it seems like an ok area but it I get the impression that its still full of vagrants/drug users/derros in some parts. I like the general appearance of the area, its quite asthetically appealing, although a little expensive. But its significantly cheaper than the CBD or West End, which are other areas I don't mind. Does anyone here live in Spring Hill?

What about Gordon Park, anyone live there?

Gordon Park Rocks. Anywhere North side inner city you will be good. Gordon Park, Stafford, Wavell Heights, Chermside, Virginia(half industrial though. But the smell from Arnotts is to die for) Geebung, Boondall and toombull is the shiz.

Yeah that is good though I've seen the new apartments going for around 300 a week for 2 bedrooms. I just don't want to move into some place at Spring Hill only to find out its a gay apartment block (literally!!). I'm also curious as to why its so cheap... I mean some places in the city go around $600-700 a week for 2 bedroom!!

True. Forget i mentioned Toombull.

But all of those suburbs. 15minute drive to the city give or take. 22minutes from sunshine train station. (Stopping at all stations :()

I used to play tennis in smelling distance of arnotts - very hard to chase a stupid furry green ball around a slab of concrete with all those luvly smells wafting past.

yeah, i live in spring hill. so far the derros/druggies/drunks don't seem to be a problem. only problem is the drunk clubbers from the valley staggering past my house and singing some god awful tune every weekend.

but yeah it rocks, walk to work in the city (or freeloop if i'm feeling lazy), then walk to the valley on the weekends, stagger back home. rinse-repeat

spring hill is very divided, the wrong areas and you get halfway houses, the good areas and the price skyrockets. im in milton and loving it, great location, close to everything, and a 5 minute drive into the city/valley. its great.

yer, ive lived in spring hill as well
was fine (although we did watch the cops take away a dead dude from next door)

was expensive, but more than made up for it with the convenience of being able to walk to and from the valley

although that got a bit tired, when id come home from working all nite and there would be a house full of party people, when i just wanted to sleep . ..

I lived in Spring Hill all of last year and loved it ... we did get broken into about a week before I moved out though, but caught them in the end. So long as you get to know your neighbours and keep things locked up there's no real issue, and there's always lots of secured apartment buildings in the area now.
