I really don't see how this multi-megabyte "patch" (it could be done in far less, but hasn't) to enable the dry-humping 'sex' scenes is any different to nude skins in the Sims (or, hell, even the in-game "make whoopee" option) or the millions of other envisaginable addons in games.

How about a few people with skinning and basic reverse-engineering knowledge get together and make R-rated changes to every game released. See how that goes.

Not that I play the game - it hasn't appealed to me enough for me to spend my hard earned cash on it - but this banning of it is a complete wank. It basically boils down to this: Games are INTERACTIVE. When you interact with something, instead of just watch it, you are using more parts of your brain. You are absorbing and learning all sorts of extra info about the game.

YOU are making decisions about what a character does, over and over again. In a non-interactive piece, someone else has made the dicision.

Effectivly to represent the above the classification rules sort of jump games or interactive pieces up a catagory over a similar level non-interactive piece.


Why they dont bring in an R rating for games isnt answered very well though. Perhaps under non-interactive rules the game would have earned a R rating, then because it is interacive in moves up a notch, there is nothing more then an R rating so it gets banned.


Perhaps an R rating will appear if various measures were taken to prevent minors from obtaining MA and R products.

Interectivity is a pretty lame excuse in my opinion. I'm pretty sure everyone on this forum can tellt he difference between Los Santos and Brisbane; Just because it's intereactive doesn't mean its still just entertainment.

I don't know if rockstar would be amazingly upset.. it was on sale for a good while and the majority of sales would have been made. now theres gonna be a last minute rush of sales as well. I dont expect their losses will be too significant.
