No pop-ups thankyou very much. Your banners that expand when my mouse brushes over them are annoying enough, but I can put up with them. I also open a number of threads at once, each one is giving me a new pop-up.

Forum for public debate.

My suggestion is to put some more banners else where on the page.

I haven't had any problems with popups. Being on Optus cable, they have a built in ad blocker thingy which downloads to your machine when you sign up.

Also a new one is popping up each time I navigate between the main forum and a thread.

we don't have popups on this site, to the best of my knowledge. If you're getting popups you prolly installed something with adware in it.

Maybe you are right, maybe not. I haven't been surfing in many other places, but it is only your site so far. It is the optus turbo charged one that is often a banner of QGL.

Is anyone else getting it then?

I don't get any in IE on this site

I had one pop up in IE yesterday (optus one) and in FireFox I had the yellow line up top saying that they had blocked a pop up.

Both QGL were the only ones open, one work one home

I'm getting one every time I click a QGL link- so multiple ones at once.

The one up the top 'jumps' out at me (in IE) and then goes back to normal size....

In firefox it is much smaller and doesn't look like a pop up.

Optus turbo charge mobile phones.

Don't know if this will help?

I got one when I went to the main page. But when I open a thread in a new window I don't get any more.

can you guys please describe exactly what you mean by popups? that jet li movie ad isn't a popup, at least not the one I'm seeing - it just expands down a certain distance when you mouse-over it.

click qgl page opens little optus popup opens simultaneously.

I havent seen the Jet Li one but the Optus one I have seen on multiple comps/browsers for the last week or so and is the one I think most are referring to.

I had not had any popups, so curious, I changed the settings on my browser like so
http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/1472/setting6nu.th.jpg

as you can see, only qgl.ausforums.com is allowed to open popups, and voilą

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9789/screenshot8tw.th.jpg

as I said, the only thing I changed was to allow qgl to open popups. When I changed this back, the popups went away again.

Negatory to that - I was getting them on my work pc which is running a fairly restrictive install of NT4 - definantly no spy/mal/adware on the box - Unless something was detecting I was coming from a Telstra corporate IP address & saw fit to throw all the Optus adds at me :D

I just got a popup as well; this must be a mistake because I'm sure we've never authorised the use of popups. I'll check it out on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience, but surely yall are using popup blockers anyway :)

I don't mind banners too much but pop-ups or pop-unders are annoying - esp. ones that take focus away from your browser.

And yeah I noticed I got one from QGL as well but Firefox blocked it so.

Apparently we did OK this, will try and find out WTF!?! is going on.

In the meantime, if you're not using Firefox, I have little sympathy :)

Oh oh, can I please download Firefox and be I'll finally be cool like the rest of you fanboy nerds. ;)

Whatever, I use QGL to help keep my sanity at work, where I'm not allowed to download programs, and cbf'ed even if I could.

Bad enough to have pop-ups, but whoever the idiot was who implemented them is, they also screwed up because if I am surfing QGL for say 10mins, I will have about 20-30 pop-ups by the end.

Pls fix. It is s***house.
