As some of you may know, various market research companies often will pay people to test various products... today I tested a new imported beer. And got paid $50 to do it (about 1/2 hour of work). Recently I tested a soft drink product and was also paid. I'm pretty stoked that people actually pay for you to test beer. God life is so hard...

And to think most of you HANG UP on telemarketers!

Some woman in the city was handing out these flyers last friday to do this, I dont know if it's the same one or what but it was for imported beers.

If i got a flyer like that i'd probably throw it away. That offer would have sounded too good to be true.

"yes just drink this beer and we'll give you $50"

Next thing you know you wake up half naked in bali with someone strapping kilos of coke to your body.

i actually sore a job listed for people who love beer.. i dont have heaps of experience in beer although i drink it lots i feel i am much too young to have accepted the position.

I was in a shopping center and they asked me to participate in a survey about Beer. It took 20 minutes to do the bloody survey and they asked stuff like "Which beer has a clean crisp taste" and "Which beer makes you want to stay just a little bit longer" bulls*** like that. I only did it because I thought they'd give me something for free.

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Idol, sounds more like they are just trying to see how effective their advertising campaigns and slogans are.

oh yeah they even showed me screenshots from tv commercials and asked me to recall which brand was being advertised

I knew that, but the point is, if I'm helping them, they should be helping me; to get drunk. I think at least a buy-one-get-one-free beer coupon would have been nice.

To do this sort of market research you first need to qualify - and they'll ask you all sorts of questions, much the same as the ones you already mentioned.

You got a voucher and I got cash. Cash which I didn't spend on alcohol... I bought a book, The Ragged trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell.

But there is $50 I would spend on alcohol down the line anyway, so then I have an extra $50 to spend on something else.....all evens out
