OK.
Firstly, does anyone know which folder I have to place demo files in to view them in CS:S? I d/l a bunch from http://cyberfight.org/ and put them in my steamapps/cs:s folder. When I type playdemo in the console the names of the demos will come up but when I go to play them it doesn't work, and comes up with an error saying file not found or some crap. Secondly, can anyone tell me how to customise the mapcycle in CS:S and/or Q3? kthx |

Fancy the guy being so anal about alt-caps not even having a properly capitalized display name. |

1) They should just go in the cstrike directory in your SteamApps folder.
2) in CSS you just have a mapcycle.cfg file with a list of the map names you want in them, each map on a new line. There must be a zillion pages about this in google with more detail. |

Sorry I really should search through zillions of pages in google rather than post my gaming questions on a gaming forum.

Keep in mind that Valve regularly renders your demos obsolete after some updates.

Sorry I really should search through zillions of pages in google rather than post my gaming questions on a gaming forum.wtf? Have a cry! I answered your questions and told you how to get more information if my answers weren't in detail enough. Unless you state your level of expertise with running servers, how am I supposed to know what level of detail you require to understand the question? Also, read the rules; asking questions is only supposed to be done if a search is fruitless. So yes, you should search through zillions of pages in google before posting. Its just POLITE to put some effort in first before asking someone else do to do the hard yards for you! last edited by trog at 14:32:36 24/Jun/05 |

Instead of just trying to play the demo, in the console type "demoui" and you can then browse to the demo file (IIRC). It also gives you nice viewing controls.
