last week i ordered a 21" mitsubishi flatscreen monitor from gateway. i recieved it 3 days later, took it out of the box, and.. it had a 2 inch scratch down the screen.
i called gateway and they told me they'll send me a replacement one on warranty. it's been over a week now and i still havnt got my replacement monitor, and.. gateway closed down in australia and new zealand.. now what?

the closest i can get to contacting gateway is sending an e-mail to america..

will i get my monitor?
everyone knows how annoying a scratch on your screen is. especially if it was there since you took it out of the box

i've had it for a week. they said they're sending a replacement.. then they f*** off.

now, to me, it looks like they owe me a new monitor - what happens to all the other unhappy customers and warranties?

yer, apparently they over-sold and have a blacklist of monitors to supply to people who have already payed.

i thought they would have none left, but they would have to order them in for warranty purposes.

Well gateway have f***ed me off too...

I bought some of the speakers they had for sale, coz i was too slow for mons :( and they have debited my credit card and say at least another week b4 they even leave their warehouse...

WTF!!!

all i can say is, i better get my f***ing monitor.

I should think you'll be fine. Gateway's a big company, even if it does seem to us that they're pulling out rather fast. I'd bet you'll have to wait longer than you'd hope, but I'm sure they'll take care of you.

to tell you the truth, when i called them, the guy said the monitor will take a while - possibly because they were shipping it im.. i don't know, i also called exactly one week prior to their shutting down, which what i was mostly concerned about.

i tell you what, when and if my new monitor comes, i won't send back my damaged one :D
