When i say dvd converter i mean something that will convert mainly .avi files to dvd format.

I tried WinAVI and that was just complete s*** just shuts down when i start to convert it. I've tried cucusoft's stuff but that takes about 16hrs to convert one movie file.

So now im here, what do you guys use? Suggest? Had problems with?

Help is appreciated.

I've tried heaps but I found WinAVI to be the best. WinMPG looked good although it didn't work for me.

Nero Vision is the best. Just drag the avi to the disc and click bur. It will convert it and then write to the dvd.

Sonic mydvd 9 (i think thats it) is pretty awsome for a simple one
as in Neo DVD (i think thats it)

they will both make the job fairly easyily done

WinAVI has been good for me,
but something similar - anyone know how to make menus for DVD's, tried searching, but being a bit annoyed gave me a short attention span on google.

Nah, it definately converts to mpeg2, you want version 3, I think its called something like tmpgXpress or something.

Also, see if you can grab the Tmpgenc DVD creator (not sure if thats its exact name, something like that, maybe DVD Author). Its really good for putting the actual dvd together with menus and s***.

I use Nerovision and it's not fast, but it's not horribly slow either and it's definitely nice and easy to use. Depending on the size & format of the file being encoded and your settings it should be almost realtime. I burned a couple 2 hour DVDs in roughly 2 hours each.

As for WinAVI it's not because you're missing a Codec is it?
