Hi all,

I've encountered a new problem with my father's computer that im not sure how to figure out whats wrong with it or how to solve it.
I have a few ideas, but need some advice to go on.

Specs are:

Windows XP, Intel Celeron 2.4 ghz, 512 ram.

SyncMaster 753s Monitor.

Nvidia Geforce MX440 video card.

Through some quick searching on the net, Ive seen some people have had some problems with the Nvideo Geforce MX440 Card.
Also, it appears my father has ghosted the HDD (Taken it out of one machine and put it in a new one, without reinstallign!! (Ill fix this though grr).

Any suggestions, anyone else had any problems? Just some helpful ideas or things to check would be great - thankyou.

CA.

From what he's said, its very "random" when it blacks out. But usually when running programs that chew up a bit of power.

It did it today when I was installing Norton AntiVirus and also running an AdAware scan on the computer. It blacked out, then came back with a normal screen, then black out again - continued in that pattern, changing every second, until the AdAware stopped its scan.

It's as if the programs chug up too much "power" and something else has to fail...
