The 4,467-square-foot court sits near the top of the 1,053 foot tower that was built on a man-made island in the Arab Gulf. It took almost three years to build the island before work even began on the sail-shaped building, which was designed by architect Thomas Wills Wright, according to the hotel's Web site.

There has been the odd one or two show about that hotel on discovery channel, and the plans they have for developing the surrounding area are completely amazing.

In a world where hundreds thousands of americans are illiterate, homeless and starving, we see this enormous structure built at a cost of billions of dollars, of which could have helped feed and educate the poor americans for years.

It used to be a helipad, and im pretty sure they're changing it back into it after this tennis gig is done, so i'd assume it's probably pretty expensive to put some form of big guard rails around it.

It'd kinda ruin the coolness a bit as well.
