Hi, my friend was droppng his mum off into the city and he ran into these guys in the city that were in a white van...

They asked him if he wanted to buy some quality speakers and s***. He checked em out and they said they're normally $7000 and sold them to him for $2000 out of the back of this van. I checked them out myself and they are pretty heavy and seem of good quality..

I checked them out on google and found this webpage: http://www.fleetwoodaudio.com.au/welcome/docs/splash.htm

He bought two of these: http://www.fleetwoodaudio.com.au/welcome/page5.php

and 2 of these: http://www.fleetwoodaudio.com.au/welcome/page6.php

note that these support 7.1 surround sound....

I checked the prices and came out to be around $3900 in total and got it for half price.
They gave him an invoice for the system for warranty purposes which looks a little funny but the website address written there is the same as above.

Has anyone heard of this brand b4?
do you's think this is a good buy?
Can't find anything else on google about this brand...

Thanks

Very common scam.

Did he give you the "i drove up from the coast but found out we over orded" story, then flash a reciept with nothing but a sold stamp on it, too quick for you to even look at it?

I have seen these guys they tried to sell to me, he said we just need ot get rid of them, "ok, $10" Didnt take much to work him up, he drove away pretty pissed off.

I cant believe idiots actually fall for this and buy their dodgy ass s***.

I'm with whoop.

I'm no audio expert but I've been told that 4ohm is supposed to be an indication of a good speaker, also with a little research you could probably find out what the other s*** means as well. Then take out one of the satellite speakers and look at the back of the actual speaker (not just the box) as it should tell you the ohms rating on the back of the magnet so you'll know if they are complete bulls*** or not.
note that these support 7.1 surround sound....
Again not an expert but I'm pretty sure that that means sweet f*** all. It's the amp that supports 7.1, unless you mean that those speakers are ment to be properly balanced for a 7.1 configuration which by looking at them seems unlikely.

Scam. I've seen their scamhouse down at the goldcoast too. If you want your $2000 back then you can track them down and a sly c*** called "Jay". Take them back to the warehouse at the GC and you'll get your money back, but u gotta do it real quick.

You see all the dodgey f***s loading up the vans there in the morning. Now whenever I see them I go over and tell the potential suckers that it's all a scam and for the sellers to eat my dick.

anyone else notice teq's story varies greatly??

Thread 1:
haha, we got 2 massive speakers of a white van that pulled up outside our house.

took some convincing, but we wrote them a cheque, they lugged the speakers up the stairs

as soon as they drove off, we rang the bank and cancelled the cheque.

scam that.

btw, the speakers go hard and are still going hard to this day

Thread 2:
we bought some years back, they go hard and are still going hard to this very day - he wanted like $2500 for about 6 large speakers, we checked them out and they werent too bad, gold inputs etc.

dad got $600 cash out of his wallet and after saying no.. but a bit more etc.. then dad walks inside, they go 'ok ok wait, chuck in 30 bucks on the side for a carton of piss for us tonight and you've got yourself a deal'

they took them upstairs, took them out of the box, set them up to current surround sound system (which was mad except the old+ speakers), took the rubish to the bin, left with $630.

all in all, not a bad saturday afternoon.

someone has a serious case of post purchase rationalisation and a bit of verbal diorahhea to boot.

Some guy's tried to sell me a surround sound unit, I was laughing the instant they rolled up. Told them I can’t carry anything on a motorcycle. As soon as they knew it was going nowhere, they were out of the carpark pretty darn fast.
