Here's a story from ninemsn click! saying that Tel$tra have reported a record profit of $4.1 billion up 10.4% from it's previous record last year.

Aren't all you BPA customers glad to hear such wonderful news?

I better see price drops and/or service improvements as a result of this... *grrr*

Erm it is avoiding service improvements and avoiding price cuts that helps them post record profits, don't hold your breath :o(

I think that a removal of the 3GB cap and such might attract enough customers to warrant the network improvement costs implicit...

Ok, Telstra produce that sort of profit yet still Australian's allow them to raise the monthly line rental charges.
It's like every person who has ANYTHING to do with Telstra has a big-ass blind fold on and a sticker on his coit that says "Rape It Some More - I love it"

I think im gonna throw in another tenner every month, coz Telstra are so nice, caring and understanding. and they don't make alot of money for the excellent service they provide.

Not hard to make a profit, charge heaps for nothing ie:- BPA cable services.

Considering that the reason for the slump in the value in Tel$tra shares was due to the collapse of their investment in Hong Kong with which they lost an expected $1.5 billion I believe in profit, the $4.1 billion they *did* manage wasn't bad ;)

I wonder when Tel$tra will just start sending bills for $1000 to every man, woman and child in Australia each month.
They wouldn't of course provide anything in return. But then again, BPA customers probably wouldn't notice a difference.

I know they mail me a piece of paper, but I rekon thats expensive, 1 piece of paper (with writing on it, make it almost useless as paper) for ~$80 a fortnight.
