Carnivale Website

I've also been meaning to get my hands on it.

If it's half as good as the Sopranos or Deadwood, then it'll be worth watching.

Looks a little Twin Peakish!
Kinda like Cirque De Solei on crack.

A friend recommended it. Recons it was very good but takes a little bit of getting in to.

I downloaded it but lost interest during episode one twice.

Mate recon'd give it two eps and you'll be hooked. But i couldn't get that far. Might try again during the next TV-dry-spell.

Its also directed (or maybe written? can't quite remember) by the guy who is now doing the new BSG series.

The trailer looks like it might be alright. Will have to visit suprnova and see if it's there.

EDIT: Will definately be checking it out. It has Clancy Brown in it and he rocks extremely hard.

Apparently it starts December 19th at 8:30pm

I've been waiting for this one...was a big big fan of Twin Peaks.

I was about to ask who Clancy Brown was, then I looked it up on IMDB and found out he was the guy who played Zim in Starship troopers, so yeah, he rocks.

Except the main actor is that f***** that ruined Terminator 3.... he can't act to save himself.

I just watched the first ep and it's soooo slow. I've still got another 5 eps to watch so it might start getting better. Also, the main guy is such a f***ing whinger. All he does is whinge and gets pissed off when people try and talk to him. Stupid f***** whinger.

Hmmm, just watched the second ep and it's starting to pick up a bit although it's still really damn slow. Will have all 12 eps by tomorrow morning so hopefully after watching the whole series it'll start to make sense. Really liking Clancy Brown's character. Not sure if he's meant to be a good priest or an evil motherf***er but so far he seems to be the most interesting. That Nick Stahl guy is still acting like a real nancy boy and it's pissing me off. He's got this awesome power to heal people and he's acting like a real clown. He needs to grow some balls and accept his gift and get on with things.

So in summary, Clancy Brown for the win and Nick Stahl is a skirt.

I've got it, saw it ages ago..it's very VERY good..watch it!

If people want to talk about the episodes maybe we should create a SPOILERS thread or something, because I really would hate to ruin it for anyone.

It will probably take a while for you to be able to understand exactly what's going on...and when you think you finally know what's going on, they'll throw something else in for you that will either

a) Screw up what you thought was going on or

b) Add something new in that you have to try and figure out.

It's fantastic. Season 2 comes out early next year (woot).

Deadwood is another kickarse HBO series. It's set in the Wild West and takes some steps towards a realistic setting. The acting and writing is top-notch (as to be expected).

It's well worth a look at. The DVDs haven't hit here yet, but it's not too hard to find if you look around.

Oh man, Carnivale is starting to kick some serious ass all over the place.

So far I've watched up to episode 4 and it's really starting to kick off. The first two eps are pretty much ass compared to 3 and 4. If you plan on watching this give it a bit of time. Once you get to ep 3 it really starts getting cool and you find out more about the characters and what the hell is going on. Nick Stahls character is still acting like one hell of a whiney bitch which sorta sucks but Clancy Browns one is f***ing awesome. Can't wait till someone else starts getting into this from here.

Ok then. Just finished watching the series and I still have no idea what the hell just happened.

I'm not into religion and stuff so maybe I was missing some key points. I worked out Brother Justin's character, my favourite outta the whole show, but I didn't understand the ending with the fire in the trailer. Maybe I missed some important things along the way but this has really left me wondering WTF it was all about. Maybe Mr Tibbetts can shed some light on this. Apart from that it was a very polished show, great acting by everyone all round.

Anyone that didn't bother downloading it still watching? I thought last nights was pretty kewl. I thought Brother Justin was going to f*** that doctor up in the nuthouse however was not to be. I couldn't quite figure out the thing with the kids from Russia - especially when they had a photo of the same kid on their wall? How did Justin break his leg down there did they show that? I missed the first couple of minutes at the start...

Well I can't answer anything for certain, my friends all watched it and we have different explanations about virtually everything that took place. They haven't had time to explain anything really from the last episode, so it's all up in the air really.

The first episode of season 2 starts in the US tonight, so hopefully we should be able to get a hand on it tomorrow :) huzza! Can't wait!

I thought that the Brother Justin and his sister were the Russian kids and in the flashback Brother Justin was the guy that he killed, because they said that he broke the mans neck. And his sister got that phone call about how she knew the whole time what he was.

I have no idea but that's the conclusion I have come to.

You have friends? ;)

I tried watching this on one of the DVDs you gave me, and I just scratched my head and said "That's crazy kid.. what sort of s*** has he got himself mixed up in now?"

Ah yeah shaz maybe that's what its about... Although, his sister wasn't in that photo on the wall IIRC or maybe she wasn't born yet I suppose.

It's a pretty good series IMHO, looking forward to the next one!

Last nights episode kicked some serious ass, as far as Clancy Brown's character was concerned.

Do I smell a showdown of religious proportions between the good reverend and hawkins?

Crunch I thought that the sister was older than him. That's why she was the older russian girl? I dunno though.
