Members of Damage Plan dead?

If any of you ever remember the band Pantera, guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul had falling out with singer Phil Anselmo and created their own project named "Damage plan".

Damage Plan wasn't that crash hot, but were ok...This news is quite sad, if it is true that Dimebag and maybe Vinnie are dead..Two major influences in the metal scene have been lost, great loss to the fans and families.

never heard of them... then again i dont listen to s***.

This is bulls*** right? I hope so. Dimebag was too legendary to die. Damage plan's website hasn't got anything about it on it. I can't get to damageplan.net either..

I can't say I'm a huge Pantera fan, but there certainly ain't no meaningful lyrics or alot of melody in techno buddy.

Spook: It's always the minority that ruins it for the majority. You then hear about this minority and stereotypes are formed. Dimebag did have alot of melody behind his music, He knew his theory very well and was good as applying it.

The one thing that attracts me about the raver scene is the mindset everybody is it and the atmosphere.

edit: Phil(vocals from pantera) did sing alot of s***. However, he also had some pretty good lyrics too.

Vinnie and Dimebag made Pantera what it is(or was). That's why its tragic, especially if both were to have died. I'm interested to know what Vinnie's reaction to this is. They(dimebag and vinnie) have been jamming together forever.

Dime actually owns several strip clubs in the states.

..and yes - his guitar is very melodic and his solos kick arse. Vinnie on the other hand is the double-kick god (check out Primal Concrete Sledge live).

more like flailing about trying to punch or kick someone (he was spasically jumping around throwing punches and kicks and elbows, loosely in time to the music)

Scoop of the Columbus, Ohio radio station The Blitz 99.7 FM has confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul was uninjured in the shooting incident at a Columbus nightclub which resulted in the death of Paul's brother, Dimebag Darrell. According to Scoop, who attended the concert and briefly saw Vinnie following the incident, Paul was in a complete state of shock and expressed his desire to be with his brother right after the shooting occurred.

A friend of Scoop's, Kevin Minerd, who also attended the concert, told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the gunman entered the stage from the left side and walked over to the right side where Dimebag was standing before grabbing the guitarist and pumping several bullets into him. Additional shots were fired, although it's presently unclear which other member of DAMAGEPLAN, if any, was killed in the incident.

"A Columbus police officer, when he arrived, engaged the shooter, and the shooter is also dead, and if the officer hadn't acted when he did and how he did, we'd probably be looking at more dead, because this guy was actively shooting," Sergeant Brent Mull, public information officer, told MTV News.

"We have 200-plus patrons that we have sequestered inside three city buses," Sergeant Mull explained. "We are interviewing them one by one. The ones that were inside and witnessed this, ran for their lives and were in fear for their lives. They are victims too, and we want to take care of them."

As news of Dimebag's (born Darrell Lance Abbott in Dallas, Texas on August 20, 1966) bizarre and tragic demise rippled through the metal community, the news was met with shock and sadness.

"'ve known them for 16 years. He wasn't just a guitarist, he was a friend. One of the nicest people I've met. Here is what I have been able to ascertain. Realize I could be wrong on some of this, but most of it is gospel.

1) Daryl is dead. We all know this.
2) Vinnie is fine (I have confirmed this)
3) A bassist from the opening band tried to shield Daryl and was shot. I do not know his condition, but I imagine critical.
4) Fans were shot
5) The other member dead is believed to be Pat Lachman. This has not been confirmed, but I have this on very good sources, but it is VERY late for any of us who know anyone to get any info.
6) Dime was taken to Riverside Hospital (DON'T CALL THERE!)
7) A bouncer was shot in the shoulder.
8) Someone was shot in the thigh, I believe this to be the bassist involved, but at point blank range, this may be critical.
9) Three are dead (at this writing) one being the shooter. One is Daryl, I am nearly 95% sure the other is Pat.
10) The shooter shot at Vince, but he crawled away on the floor and hit the deck (and you would too so no bulls*** posts)
11) The death toll is now at 5
12) FOr those of you arguing about stupid ####, it was a UNIFORMED POLICE OFFICER who snuck in the back and shot the gunman. The cops received the call at 10:18
13) Mitch was working. He is okay.
14) A Hammer Strength Sec guard was shot
15) The other confirmed dead is a security guard (not the above)
16) There are now 5 confirmed dead.

I went up and sidled up next to the bar with Dime and said "Lemme buy you a shot" and he said "f*** no man! It's all on me brother! Whatchya drinking?" I said "Blacktooth..." and he said "Now we are talking"....
I gave him a cd of my old band and he put it into his front pocket in his cammo shorts. Then he grabbed me in a headlock and signed my forehead. This is where it gets surreal and why he is a God to me.

Some kid and his mother came in. The kid had a Pantera shirt on and was on crutches, the kind for Polio. The mom immediately left the kid in the corner and proceeded to try to get laid by Dime and Vinnie. She was about 40 and was being a tramp, not to mention leaving her kid so she could be a groupie. I watched the kid for about 3 minutes, having his head down. I butted in on the mom's attempts to get laid and tapped Dime on the shoulder. I said "Dime!" and pointed to the kid. Dimebag looked over and stared for a coupled seconds. Then he looked at the mom and said "Later..."

He walked over to the kid and the kid beamed with excitement. Dime pulled up a chair and just started talking. He went and got a poster, signed it, put his hat on the kids head, gave the kid a CD and a couple pics and literally blew everybody off for about 1/2 an hour and focused on this boy. I was half drunk and almost started crying. That touched me bigtime. And noone paid attention to that kid but Dimebag. Right there is when I knew what being a ROCKSTAR was.

Dime took the time out of his life to talk to this kid like a friend, because he KNEW that this kid has taken a lot more time out of his life to listen to Dime's music. The way he saw it, it was the least he could do. And I was lucky enough to be taught that lesson that night. I will not forget it.

I was at the Pantera concert at Festival Hall I think, or was that Sepultura can't remember, saw both of em. Powerfinger were support band and got booed off stage, I think it was 97'. Fkn rocked. Dimebag is guru.
