The party wants the internet filtered at server level, warning that children exposed to online pornography could exhibit "disturbed, aggressive or sexualised behaviour".
Can you imagine how disturbed a sexed up kid would be if he couldn't get his rocks off on pron?

*sigh*

Also..
"This may have the result of putting cost pressures on some of the smaller ISPs, but there are arguably too many of these at the moment, and adequate competition could be maintained with 30 ISPs rather than the hundreds in existence now," it said.
Hahahaha! There's too many of 'em anyway! So what if a bunch of ISPs go out of business! ahaha!
"This cost is a small price to pay to protect children."
hahaha! Please! Someone think of the children!!

Thank crap these loons won't get any real power...

Damn straight!

I don't know how many fellow parents I've spoken to that say things like "Oh, he's wonderful on that computer thing. It keeps him amused for hours." And in the mean time the kids downloading porn and adware and virii and generally causing havoc on forums and MSN etc etc...

Then I get the call...

"Our computer thing has stopped working. We tryied turning it off and back on again, but it keeps asking us to look at teenagers!! Help us!!"

Grrrr....

lol @ Mantra

Just how are they planning to 'block pornographic content at server level'? That sounds like the ISP's proxy would have to make the decision on whether content is porn.

They haven't come up with some clever algorithm that recognises genitalia in JPEGs, have they?

Mantra, I'm sure if you applied such a filter to Obes' hard drive it would go beserk and require an entire hard drive just to house the (f)log file.

They've also done a deal with the Howard to put all Lib/Nats as their first preference.

Except for Ingrid Tall because she's a lesbian, two other guys because one supports gay marriage and the other had an affair.

How do morons like this ever form a political party? It's their right to do so but damn, there's no way they deserve any respect putting out joke 'policies' like that.

I'm looking through the article, and why am I not seeing something along the lines of "this magical porn-recognising filter will magically turn itself off if the user is a mature adult"?

If they get the funding/permission to put this system in for hardcore porn, I sense it being abused and the definition "adult content" being stretched to the f***ing limit. For example: Websense

this s*** really is retarted

but if they do win, and this does go into effect, and actually works, then trog & the other qgl admins will need to quickly arrange a QGLLAN to restock their supply!!!!!!

"This cost is a small price to pay to protect children."

Ahh f*** off. Why should I have to pay for the supervision of someone elses f***ing kids when the parents could easily do it themselves if they just got a f***ing clue.

f*** I hate the way all govt policies are geared towards tax breaks for families.

I agree with this. Let the govt stick to roads and laws for people that shoot each or or steal stuff. Parent licencing!!!

Yeah, tax breaks for the demographic that probably creates the biggest drain on govt resources

GG

Parent licencing

f*** YES!

There should be a license required for people who wish to produce an raise children. If you ask me, being a parent should be a priviledge, not a right cause most people just don't f***ing deserve it

/end rant

i dont see people going to get a licence before having unprotected drunk sex with someone theyve never seen before resulting in a baby

its stupid waste of money..its not like filtering would acctually work...i mean all you have to do is go to an overseas proxy, and there are many of them,....then go to what ever site you want...unless im mistaken

so then theyll bring in a clever idea to ban proxies at server level

and then all other ips and websites at server level

and then our internet will be just like it was in 1900

this would totally protect us from hackers n s***, they would see it as doing us a favour

Not what I said or meant at all. read: "if you want or plan to have a family, you need a license. babies produced from unplanned births are either adopted out into miltary for experimentation / training or just exterminated. Solved a lot of unwanted maintenance payments because the bitch lied about being on the pill, said she hated using condoms also an said it was safe an then wouldn't have an abortion later when you find out she's pregnant an you seem like teh best option for her to make money.

Better yet, come up with a safe reversible form of sterilisiation that's able to be removed from your body after you have met the conditions to obtain a breeding license.

anyway, I digress...

No. There are some legal issues to hosting porn on Australian servers, and you can't break any laws on normal porn ... which means in queensland we pretty much break the law just going to the hun.

Yeah, tax breaks for the demographic that probably creates the biggest drain on govt resources.

Families also make a larger contribution to the econmy as well so your points is stupid.

Most people with children are tighter on cash then any other demographic (esp if only 1 income) so tax breaks for them is just sensible policy. Its a nice change to giving tax breaks to people who already have heaps of disposable income.

As for the rest of the rant, that was the stupidist rubbish I've read for long time. I'd love for you too see that crap again in a couple of years when you have matured past the level of a 16YO.

If you choose not to enjoy children then its you that is missing out trust me on that.

Just pack them all up and ship them to Tasmania. That way all the fundies can play together and all the normal people can enjoy the rest of the country.

I love the way people feel the Govt should look after their kids and not them. How about when children are born they are shipped off to a govt run camp and raised in a creche. That way their every waking moment could be monitored and controlled. Then at 18 they're given back to their parents as well adjusted adults. Yeah that'd work :P

err dude, you do know that I'm over 35 don't you?

If you choose not to enjoy children then its you that is missing out trust me on that.

Yup, that's why I can go out all night an all my mates with kids go.. "f*** I wish I could go out with you but I have to stay home an look after the kids" or "I'd stay cept the missus would kill me as I have to take her an the kids to [insert dumb ass sport/play/friends house] in the morning. Yup, that's why I can go "I feel like going [insert any destination] and not need to worry about a baby sitter an if their going to be molested/assaulted etc.

Seriously, to all those people who automatically assume that EVERYONE wants anything to do with children REALLY need to get a reality check or needs them to make their life complete are the ones that I feel sorry for. I couldn't imagine how terrible it must be for you people to feel so empty in that way that you need to have kids to feel complete. My sympathies

Back on topic.

I don't want to have to pay extra for my net access just so some lazy ass incompetent parent doesn't have to live up to their own responsibilities and supervise their own spawn

I'm with you mate. While I don't begrudge other people having kids I personally don't like the idea of sacrificing huge amounts of my life to support them. And yes I suppose that does make me a selfish bastard.

Hermi: I know you are trying to sound all bold and controversial, we aren't thinking 'ohhh ahhh this guy has far out ideas man, he sure is pushing the envelope with this', we are really thinking that you're a moron, and the only envelope you're pushing is your own untouchable level of stupid ideas.

The fact that you are 35 only makes it sadder, but you say it like TMWNN made some sort of error.

babies produced from unplanned births are either adopted out into miltary for experimentation / training or just exterminated.

Any perceived advantages from any policy even similar to this would be utterly trumped by the condemnation of every other respectible country on the planet.

As a matter of fact, we would probably be invaded.

Hermi if you are over 35 it doesnt matter, the point was you are displaying the maturity of a 16 yo.

here's a newsflash, GETTING DRUNK EVERY WEEKEND ISN'T THE BE ALL AND END ALL OF LIFE. I did that for quite afew years and yeah I had some good times, but as I got older I reaslized that there is more to life.

You really don't understand untill you become a parent but so far is by far the best experience of my life and it keeps getting better, I don't expect you to understand but you're the one missing out, try spending some time with a 1 year old and keep an open mind, you might be suprised.

AS for the internet thing though, I think anyone with a brain would agree that porn filtering is the king of sumb ideas.

Realistically, isn't the meaning of life to procreate and continue the species?
So it's only normal.

Which are the people to feel sorry for? How about those who are socially inept and live in their room, and develop these crazy ideas of not needing a partner/children from living in solidarity for so long.

The above may not be factual, and in fact, just a derogatory troll :P
