Who went?

Just got home from the Brissy show....and I'll be damned if it wasn't one of the better (read almost best) live gigs I've been to in a lonnnnng time... To start with - Pink herself is nothing short of amazing on stage - fantastic live singing voice, unreal stage presence & a very funky attitude... Annnd to top it off, her band was f'n kickass - very very rock-based... the lead guitarist was going off, and going off haaard all night long... and the chick on bass was nothing short of rockin to boot (blonde chick + dreds + corset-y thingy...booby/cleavage max!)... As for the show itself - lots of stuff going on...the 3 dancers they had on stage @ various times were great...one was an asian chicky who would've been right @ home in a jackie chan flic or some kung fu film (had the whole flip/kicking thing going..amongst other stuff.. had a fantastic bod).. one was some amazonian black chick who would've looked more @ home in a james bond film (you know the one I'm referring to)..mean as hell, looked tough as nails....but had a f'n awesome body - toned to buggery with a 6-pack most guys would kill for...not to mention a top set of perky tits (she got em out too!)..the 3rd chick was alright - great dancer...umm...had a nice set of nice perky tits too, even if the nips were taped up :(
Pink sung a fair number of songs, some as part of a medely (sp), some shortened out...but most were sung in full.. Again - she's got a phoenominal voice & kept it up the entire concert long...

highlights:
- The band (minus pink) doing an absolutely f'n amazing cover of Welcome to the Jungle as the first encore song...the backup singer chick nailed it spot on.. definant biiig highlight of the night.
- Lady Marmlade - Yup..pink sung it, along with 4 blow-up dolls made out to look like Mya, 'lil Kim, herself & Christina... the fun began when the 4 chicks (pink + dancers) started stripping the dolls off & throwing the undies etc into the crowd & then proceeding to make out/f**k the dolls on stage... was funny as hell watching the 3 dancers doing really odd & bizarre things to the dolls..ending up in some massive group orgy towards the end of the song..
- The soft-porn strip show :D 'nuff said. More was shown than most brisbane strip clubs do.
- watching some smuck get strapped to a chair during Respect and basically given one hell of a lap dance by pink + her dancers.. lucky bastard..
- The lead Guitarist.. Face it - the guy rocked & rocked hard... Blue jeans, black shirt + cap..had the hardcore rocker thing going...and he went off.. tonnes of kickass solos, some really nice acustic (sp) stuff when pink was doing her Janis Joplin set & of course during the cover of welcome to the jungle..
- the above mentioned Janis Joplin set... Like I said - Pink's got an amazing voice & she did a decent medley of Janis songs and pulled it off very, very well.. was on the tail end of her singing My vietnam/Misery & she was dressed in an American flag that'd been burnt up a bit :)
- Welcome to the Jungle.. oops....already said this....well....saying it again :D

and too much more stuff to mention.....

the low-lights?

- The support act.. Fur Patrol or whatever they were... weren't bad by any stretch, but were fairly uninteresting & didn't really do much, other than get the crowd going by yelling "Pink's coming next!" at the end...
- The bastard roadies who wouldn't give me a set list off the stage @ the end...
- The traffic getting to the damned thing in the first place. I hate rubberneckers (and it caused the concert to run late too!)..


So yea... great show, definantly recommend getting along to seeing Pink if you're even somewhat of a fan... despite the fact she's only doing one brisy show... oops.. maybe next time then :)

I could make a big troll post bagging out her music but that won't achieve anything but piss people off. All I'll say is, are you guys serious? I cant tell if this is a piss-take or not.

yeah, im with riot'us, i can't understand what anyone see's in her music.

I actually dont mind some of her stuff. Her latest single is cool.

It's something different to listen to, after listening to metal for like 5 hours straight..need something to recover.

Just like I also listen to n.e.r.d., black eyed peas and so on.

I have to say this - I've seen her live on TV and if you really think she has a great live voice, you must seriously be deaf.

I watched that interview and rove was asking THE most stupid obvious questions. It was painful to watch (and pretty short). Oh, and you couldn't see her eyes most the time cause of her hat, whats with that?

Yeah she doesnt seem to be one of the best people to interview, she seemed like she was mellowed out before aswell. When ever rove asked a question she never really asnwered it in full..It's also wierd how she will be tatooing her band :/..Pinks music is alright, but I dont like her attitude/character in person (Ie Rove)

Thanks trog! While I'm sure pink's definantly not everyone's cup of tea, I passed up on seeing her in concert in 2002 (at twin towns), mainly because I wasn't too fussed over her & was seeing her at rumba anyhow... after watching her @ rumba, was pissed at myself for not going to the twin towns concert.. incidently, this was the first live show I'd been to since going to rumba in 2002... oops :P

Definantly caught the live music bug again tho - looking at grabbing tickets to go see either kiss (ticketek's doing a 2-4-1 offer if anyone's interested) or the offspring next up... (unless Gerling heads upto brissy again... it rocks having a cousin as their manager :D )
