Last night 60 Minutes had a segment on the Australian SAS, and during this segment they had some f***ing awesome footage of the SAS troops under fire in Iraq.

I've been to the website, but I can't seem to find any of the footage from this particular segment on there. Anyone know of somewhere else you can download it, or perhaps I just didn't look in the right spot?

On the site there's a bit that says "# ninemsn Premium: get unlimited access to a range of exclusive content across ninemsn. This includes entry into the vast library of 60 Minutes transcripts and video. Sign up now!". From the sounds of things that's the way you actually get the footage. I went to the site and they're offering a free 30day trial. So maybe join up for the 30day trial and just download the story and ditch it all :p

Look down the bottom of the page.

The only thing I liked about that footage was when the B-52 came in! :D

I saw the story on Sunday (the a.m. channel 9 show) and it was pretty awesome interviewing the SAS guys etc.

MARTIN WALLACE: Yeah, it was the first time we took it to the hardline al-Qa'ida, who weren't prepared to flee or run and hide in Pakistan. These guys were definitely committed and they were there to fight to the death, and we accommodated them, yeah.

Mate when it was all over and we'd settled our differences, we went down the pub and had a round of grog together.

This is pretty uber. The SAS are something else.

LT GENERAL FRANK HAGENBECK, COALITION COMMANDER:

I would tell you, I would not have wanted to do that operation without the Australian SAS folks on that ridge slide. I mean, they made it happen that day.

The Australian SAS displayed those kinds of things that make them the elite, in my view, of small-unit infantrymen throughout the world. And that's an autonomy, independence, tenacity that they will never ever be defeated.
