Sorry if this has been done recently, but i re-watched Die Hard the other day, and it's got to be one of the best hollywood action movies in 'recent' times. I'd say top 3, with Aliens and probably something else I can't think of in there as well.

Does everyone else place Die Hard highly or do some of you think it sucked?

yeah the first die hard is really good... i got the die hard trilogy dvd box set (6 discs) which is pretty cool but i don't think you can get it in region 4.

There's a 5-disc box set: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/220155 (though it appears it's no longer available)

I've got 1 and 2 on DVD, and 3 on VHS (bought it long before DVD became common and am meaning to replace it). First is still the best - Alan Rickman owns, whether he's playing bad guy or good guy.

With A Vengence is still a top movie, though.

"Your name is Zeus?"
"Yeah, as in father of Apollo - Mount Olympus? Don't f*** with me or I'll shove a lightning bolt up your ass... Zeus!"

Only because Alan Rickman was in it (Hans Gruber). :)

God that movie rocks. My favourite bit was when the cop was buying twinkies and the store owner looks at him:
cop - "They're for my wife, she's pregnant"
store dude - "sure"
cop - "shutup"
:)

I think the things i liked about it was there wasn't too many outlandish stereo types, and the action was reasonably realistic. Loved the planning and strategy of the 'terrorists'. Also the confinement and feeling as trapped as Bruce, and some great lines that weren't just there as that's the bit where the actor needs to say something cool.

I thought Diehard 2 sucked hard, till i saw diehard 3 and realised it was alright.

which is the diehard with the airport? I kinda liked that one slightly more than the one in the tower, but the tower one was still awsome

haha, don't bag bruce in trog's presence =)

die hard 1 was most awesomely realistic

2 was spammed up a bit, but the jokes and action took up the slack somewhat

3 was just beating the dead horse

Bruce willis would have to be the worst actor ever!

I reckon Ashton Kutcher could have played the role better in Die Hard.

thats if ashton kutcher was even old enough then. Bruce willis is cool, but i would have to go for the terminator 2 movie as number 2 the whole star wars trilogy for number 1 (thats the original not the recent ones altho they are in the top 10)

I like Die Hard, I like it a lot, but I dont think it sits in my top 3 of all time.
There's just too many other awesome action movies, Predator and T2 for a start.

i think most of the james bond movies have been alot better then any of die hard movies. James bond is a much cooler character then John Maclane or whatever.

Bruce Willis is excellent, I haven't seen him in a movie I didn't like and enjoy, and yes Hudson Hawk is one of my all time favorite Bruce movies. Anyone alive and old enough in the 80's would of been a Moonlighting fan.

Die Hard 4 due 2005
