Hi all,

I know these threads are getting really boring, and they're happening a lot lately, and sorry for this, but seeing as I'm gonna be spending over $1000 on my new machine, I wanna know I'm spending it on the right gear. What do you think of this:

CPU: P4 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB (pretty definite)
Mobo: ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
RAM: 2x512MB Corsair DDR400 (matched pair)
Power Supply: Antec Truepower 550W

Graphics Card: I already have a GF4 Ti4200 to stick in.

I also already have a macase tower (enermax / antec same diff) with a few thermaltake smart fans wacked in for good measure

Also does anyone know anything about GEIL memory, because if I go for their matched pair of PC3200 ram then I can save $50.

Thanks in advance ;)

Boffiend: that stuff looks pretty decent, but do you need a gig of ddr ram? using photoshop on a p4 2.4g with HT, and 512 of ddr, rarely sees it over the 300mb mark. maybe two sticks of 256? but hey, i might end up doing the same thing anyway ;)

i am also in the same boat as not having to buy a new gfx card, going to help push some $$$ towards the other main pieces of hardware. (but f*** i wish i didn't buy the GF4 when i did, curse you fast product cycle speed of the GeForce)

Tox: sure why not, even a few extra dollars here and there can make the difference for future needs. Im glad i got the KT7a-raid at the time, as I had since installed four additional hard drives to a total of 8 ide devices, why im looking at the gigabyte 8KNXP board. Aswell as a High Quality PSW for good stability, i allwas cringe in fear after a cheap s***ty $40 psu fried a hard drive and killed a burner of mine
