umm find it hard to believe when ur trying to spread word about an awesome mod and u get ur file request turned down, even though massive files like the mtv one are being hosted.

beta 2 of www.westernquake3.com has been released and is an extremely well done mod. top new models, modes of play and polished maps.

i hope trog will reconsider his denied file request as it'd be good to spread the word on another top q3 mod.

Did you read the rejection email carefully? They say why they were rejected.

yeh i did and i quote it..

(described
as: The brand new release of Western Quake 3. Features a bank r...) has been
rejected because it appears to be inappopriate for the Files Archive.

and again

More information - unfortunately we are not able to complete this request at
this time due to disk space limitations.

both are very hard to understand. the first one being, its a q3 mod we dont want it. when clearly u are hosting other mods and the second message, about space. hd limitations my ass, as i see more so called "big gaming" files being hosted.

we're short on disk space and have to be very selective about which files we mirror. At the moment I'm concentrating on files that I think a whole lot of people will download as opposed to "smaller" things like this.

It fluctuates daily as I add/delete stuff. We're working on getting more disk space as a matter of priority but have no ETA at this point in time.

Trog u actually didn't answer his question. But come on honestly i don't think too many people really care about some of these IDE tweaks etc. Fileplanet always seems to have a headstart getting files before everyone else. Whats the deal with that?

Huh? Yes I did!

What IDE tweaks are they?

They have a full time staff that sit there and scour the Internet for new files. I just do this stuff in my spare time.

maybe there should be a "waiting list website" were rejected files are put on que until more space is free'd up

I dunno i saw some random article on IDE crap. Didn't realise u did this in spare time....... how many others like u are there? Lol i thought that ausgamers was like a open public version of gamearena. Also when i said u didn't answer his question...... he asked how much HD space u had....... I'd have thought u guys would have RAID so atleast 500GB. Thats alot, considering the only things that are posted are demo's, patches, mods and movies etc. But mayb u guys don't have raid or even 300gb hard disk space. Hey do u reckon it'd be possible to throw on a uploads section? At 12pm E.S.T every night u could trash the days stuff and it'd mean that u guys didn't have to download EVERYTHING, people could do their own "scouring" and we could post some of the stuff. I check fileplanet and Fileshack atleast twice a day for new stuff. Don't bother with Gamearena anymore cos there are always HUGE cues to download anything.

Heh, no, we have RAID but nowhere near 500 (or even 300) gb :)

We don't have an upload section but we have a file request section, which is basically the same thing - the only thing you need to do is make sure the file is available via HTTP. You can check it out in the files part of the site. Its great when people use that, because sometimes (frequently!) I miss out on stuff and it means there isn't a fast local mirror for a while.

You save us a hell of a lot of time & bandwidth by doin all the file poaching & sorting yourself.

Keep up the good work Trog.
