it detects the drives immediately at POST
then the next screen where u normally just see a flash of ur IRQ's etc ... i can read it for like 10secs then the loading screen with the grey blocks ... takes like 10secs before the first block appears ... then another 15 or more for it to reach the end then like another 20 or more secs to load the win2k loading bar my old PC use to finish the win2k loading screen like 20secs after POST meh im gonna format after work tomorrow anyway ... |

oh yeah .. can how partitions are setup affect it?
i have the WD on IDE1, first on cable Barracudda on IDE1, 2nd on cable i partitioned 10gb off for windows and progs etc (off the WD) .. then left 70gb as whateva barra is one big 80gb chunk in windows the drive letters came up as C:/ Barracudda 80Gb partition -logical E:/ 10gb partition -primary F:/ 70gb partition -logical Is that how the logical and primary should be setup? I would have assumed being the first logical partition, on first IDE .. that the 10gb would have been C;/ drive Think thats all i wanted to asked :D any help greatly appreciated =) |

shouldn't C drive be the 10gig windows partition? I think you've got the boot sector on the baracuda and the system drive is the WD, so the computer asks the bara for the sector where windows is on the WD. how gay.
