Well i got some pics developed of the hot rods i was talking about the other day and i want to shrink them in size and kilobyte size if possible because they are way to large, any ideas ? paint wont open them ......

XnView is free. I'm using v1.37 and it is a bit buggy, but according to the website the latest release is 1.5, so it is probably pretty stable. Resize them to something smaller, and save them as JPEGs. Play around with the quality, 60% is probably sufficient for general internet display.

A good way to help jpeg's compress is to use some sort of blur tool on the non-important parts of the pic.

you'd be surprised how low you can compress an image in jpeg then and you won't notice much quality degradation.

See this thread and just change the line that has 'mogrify' on it to the size you want!
