im the sim city champion when we had it on the shcool cimputers in primary school, everyone was cheating thinking they were cool cuz no one could have a city running longer then 20 min. but me on the other hand, i can turn any s*** city into an Über city, i beat all the scenarios, and i made many cities that could go on there own with little maintenence from me, i cant wait for this game i got the trailer when it first came out thinking none of you would be interested, i couldnt play the original simcity i sucked at it

Damn i hate preview movies that aren't actual in game footage and just pre-rendered movies, what's the point of that?

I like the idea, you make your own city, and manage stuff properly and s***, but I also suck!

I do everything th tutorial says, make sure I am covering all my bases, and I still get 6000 abandoned buildings!@!@!@@!

STAY IN YOUR HOUSES MUTHA f***AS!

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but it's a f***ing good game. I've been playing it pretty much straight for the past few days. Very steep learning curve to it.

Common mistake is to build too much too quickly, and you'll send your budget into a deficit of about $3k. Another thing to realise that it isn't a 1-city game anymore. As seen in the screenshot:
http://simcity.ea.com/images/about/tour/tour_regions_screenshot_01.jpg

Each city has to rely on the other. You can inter-connect deals for power, rubbish, water and goods.

Oh yeah and doober, that wasn't pre-rendered. That's in-game graphics :)

EDIT: That video link is broked cause they've redesigned the site. The new link is here.
