Oh and those who have the Zaeed DLC, I highly recommend getting (through new game or the research ability) his inferno grenade ability. I only have 1 point in it so far and already I manage to set 3 - 5 people on fire with it so with 4 levels in it + the AoE branch it's gonna be a brutal skill.

Widow Anti-Matter sniper cannon + infiltrator stealth + head shot tech upgrade = 1 hit kill for nearly everything, including harbringers. Even on Veteran difficulty. If you are playing as infiltrator you can get this rifle 1st play through. Any other class needs to wait until 2nd time around.

I lost Legion and Miranda which was s*** because I want both of them for the next game.

I had legion as the tech expert for the tunnels and he got skull f***ed by a rocket while closing the door, Miranda died after the end boss. CAST UNITY DAMN YOU! I was teaming up with Miranda a lot while on missions, I'd use her maxed out warp on my maxed out slam for a one-two punch that blew baddies up in mid air. Didn't have her at loyal but I don't think that should have effected the outcome.

Can you save more crew if you go straight through the warp gate after your ship gets bordered?

Whining about the Australian accent reminds me of Dragon Age and how some Americans were complaining that the Elves had "no accents".

I caught grunt before he slid off, lol'ed a bit at holding up a krogan with one hand. Just that baddass I guess.

I'm trying to work my renegade points up to get Morinth on my side. So far i've gotten like 3 bars full and still isn't enough but apparantlly need another 1/2 so off to do side missions and such. Was working Kelly to give her what for and I think I blew my chance as she has been abducted now and i'm busy doing other stuff so I can't rescue her. Guess i'll try for her 2nd play through. Most I got with her was inviting her to my cabin to talk. Bummer.

the only way to make sure everyone survives the final mission is to do the following

1. do all ship upgrades (except the probe and medbay ones) (VITAL!!!!)
2. make sure all crew members are loyal (VITAL!!!!)
3. do as many armour and weapon upgrades as possible (isnt vital but helps your chances)
4 IMPORTANT make sure you do not do the reaper IFF mission untill you a ready to finish the game and when you do as soon as you are able to get on the collector ship you must do it (delaying it even by 1 mission will mean people WILL die and you can also lose non party normandy crew members like kelly or others)
5. and lastly make sure when you have to choose people to do things like lead teams or crawl through the vent make sure you choose the right people for the right jobs. (VITAL!!!!!)

thats what i have learned from my 2 play through and im currently on my third in insane difficulty.

also just to let you guys know any crew member is capable of dieing if you choose the wrong role for them in the last mission in my first play through i lost Thane,Grunt and jack.

just remember if you do get morinth dont get her into bed lol !!!

Yes and no. You can only bed her after you finish the game so I hear, but then it doesn't really matter anyway.

I finished my infiltrator run on veteran so hitting it up yet again (3rd play through) with a new character. Can't decide what to pick now. Thinking maybe sentinel for some nifty stuff. Gonna suck using SMGs for 2/3rds of the game until I get sniper training but oh well.

jesus i was glad to have finished the 1st play through... but you've done 3!? dedicated!

i guess i'll play through again to make sure noone dies. i wonder in mass effect 3 what the outcome is if u just start a new character.

Very weird. i did every loyalty quest, but did end up losing the geth and jack loyalty because i didnt have the renegade points to stop their arguments without taking a side. I also got every ship upgrade and 95% (only missing sniper dmg upgrade) of the personal upgrades.

By the end of the last mission (on hardcore), Tali died (i sent her through the vents and she got owned when trying to close the door) grunt got eaten by little bugs as we were running away, and samara died after i chose her to stay behind and defend the door. All of these guys were loyal. WTF :( Jack also died right at the end (that was expected as i lost her loyalty)

It seems pretty random as to who survives. I literally couldnt do much more in terms of upgrades. I was already level 24 at that time as well.

I finished it last night and all my guys survived, only the personal assistant died for me.

Got the achievement though

Dunno why though apparently other people have had her survive.

Oh also my whole crew died because i told them to run back to the ship by themselves. Maybe i wont do that next time :P

I'll elaborate since I was on the bus when I typed that, I won't say this is how you do it, this is just what I did and it just happened to work for me first time.

I had loyalty for everyone, I could have gone through the Omega 4 relay earlier but I did a few side missions and Legion's loyalty mission after I did the reaper IFF mission.

I had my ship completely upgraded sans the fuel and probe upgrades, I had a fair few other various upgrades too, but none of the weapons completely upgraded.

for the first bit I had Garrus head up the other team and sent tali through the ducts, I sent Zaeed back with the survivors and the next bit I had samara be my biotic guide and miranda headed up the other team, last bit I took miranda and jack in with me while everyone else covered our exit.

Sounds like everything i did, even had more weapon upgrades. sent tali in as well. we just changed up the people we sent to lead each group, each of them were loyal.

oh wells, seems abit random :/ makes no difference once you go through your 2nd playthrough

What difficulty did the people who had very few or no deaths at all play on? Maybe it depends on how fast you get through the level. This would make sense for Samara (I told her to lead the group that met us on the other side of a door) seeing as I played it on hardcore and was held up for a little bit of time because of Harbinger. Tali dying (sent her through the vents) could also be attributed to time, as she was whinging about being cooked alive; i think at one point her bar went to the red.

Oh well, thats probably going to happen again on insanity for the 2nd playthrough. Which im finding not that fun. Sure you take more dmg and enemies take longer to kill but you just up spending most of your time behind a wall waiting for shields to recharge.

Also curious as to what happens if you didn't upgrade your ship (guns and armor) before heading into the omega relay. How does it handle the collector ship that comes out to intercept? I assume you lose a member or 2 during transit?

Finished my run through on Hardcore (or whatever is before insanity).

Vanguard Shepherd.
Full loyalty of all crew members.
Full SR2 upgrades
All of the weapon upgrades.

1) Miranda lead fire team one.
2) Tali through vent

3) Grunt to escort survivors back to SR2.
4) Garrus Fire Team two.
5) Jack for biotic.

6) Did not choose anybody to stay behind at the door.

I ended up losing Moridin, which sucks, because I liked Moridin.
Everybody else survived.

headed to suicide mission as soon as crew were abducted

1) Garrus lead fire team 1
2) Tali in vents (and opened gates in time for her)
3) Grunt did survivor escort (incl Kelly)
4) Garrus lead fire team 2
5) Samara as my biotic shield
6) Told the rest of the team to hang back and cover us

outcome: all survived.

How high do you need your Paragon/Renegade to stop losing loyalty during team arguments between Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion? My first play through was a soldier which I'd had enough of so I created a new adept character instead of playing again on the first and I've been pretty even keel with my paragon/renegade responses which has me worried about not having enough in one to maintain loyalty.

It kinda pisses me off that you get penalised for playing a rough and ready hero type character in just about every Bioware game. I thought that by now they would realise that their system goes against the hero type most of us grew up with like John McClain or Indiana Jones/Han Solo.

just gotta go rescue the crew as soon as you can. If you do any form of mission in between them being captured & you going through the Omega mass relay then she's gonna get ugly.
