EA's foray into the skating game genre begins this October as the gaming giant today revealed a solid retail release date for the game.
Electronic Arts announced that its award-winning SKATE video game will ship to retail stores on September 12 in the U.S., September 14 in Europe, and October 11 in Australia for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system. The PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system version will ship to stores on September 24 in the U.S., October 5 in Europe and October 11 in Australia. For players eager to get their hands on the game pre-launch, EA will release a SKATE demo on Xbox Live Marketplace on August 15 so players can experience first-hand the title’s groundbreaking new gameplay style – a new way of playing skateboarding games that will invigorate the genre.
AusGamers went hands-on with the innovative skating title at this year's E3 Expo, click here for all the details of just how EA plans to tackle the Hawk series of games.

Such a compelling argument for them to release it on pc.

f***ing oath it is

theres plenty of people that wouldnt spend more money on another system just for a few games that arent available to them.

im assuming of course, the cost of porting a game to pc would be covered pretty easily by sales on the platform

i would have spent thousands more on games by now if theyd also been available on pc instead of exclusively on consoles. im know other people in the same boat

It's a very small boat.

How is it not? Another platform means more accessibility, means more people likely to buy it.

Face facts here, its not in the CONSOLE MANUFACTURERS interest to allow more cross platform games. That's why there are so many things getting locked down to one console. Fortunately the Xbox has come out and broken your dependency on the PlayStation - third party game developers and publishers have realised that f***, they can make a lot more money if their games are available on different platforms.

I'm only buying a 360 to play Rock Band when it gets released. Prolly a waste of money but the fun will make up for it.

This is Electronic-whore everything to everyone-Arts, if they thought they could make more money with a pc version, dont you think they would have made one?
Maybe there arent enough people with pc's that dont also own consoles to make it worth their time? If i owned a console as well, I would probably prefer to play games like this on it.

So many people seem to feel that they're not allowed to like both consoles and PCs. They're both good, no point in limiting yourself to just one.

And if I can afford to own both PC and consoles on my modest salary, I'm sure many other here can also. There's plenty of good games out there to make both platforms worth your while.

I did spend a fair bit of time playing pc games, but its just more economical to buy a console every 5-6 years than it is to upgrade your PC every 6 months.

The advantage of consoles is that its a no-brainer for joe public, there are no system requirements on the side of the box.
