Sony have announced some of the specs for the updated PSP, and gone on to mention they will be making 140 new titles available this fiscal year for the platform. The new PSP is a sleeker and more streamlined version of the popular original PSP system. It is 33 percent lighter and 19 percent slimmer than the current version, making the all-in-one mobile entertainment system even more convenient to carry around at less than 1/2-pound in weight and less than 3/4-inch in thickness. The new PSP system will also have a thinner, more efficient battery, 64MB of system memory and video-out capabilities allowing consumers to enjoy their games at 480 x 272 resolution and movies at full standard-definition resolution on any progressive scan TV.New features of the upcoming Playstation Home were revealed and the Playstation Network will see plenty of new content on offer. "Our goal is to deliver the most compelling entertainment experience to our PlayStation fans through PLAYSTATION Network," said Jack Tretton, president and CEO, SCEA. "The interactive content sharing features of PlayStation Home, combined with the library of innovative downloadable games and entertainment, truly push the boundaries of our customer's imaginations and deliver on the promise of an integrated content and community service."Sony has announced partnerships with NCsoft Corporation, Ubisoft, Midway and Konami, and the PS3 will see a total of more than 160 games made available this (fiscal) year. The Unreal 3 Engine is set to be one of the most prominent factors in the PS3s game catalog with a plethora of titles based on the engine. In addition, PlayStation fans will have further reason to get excited about growing their game libraries as Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) and industry veterans Epic Games announced a multi-stage agreement. Revolutionizing the industry with the advent of the Unreal(R) Engine when first launching the Unreal franchise several years ago, Epic Games has joined with SCE to fully optimize the Unreal Engine for PS3 development to assist developers using this engine to accelerate game creation and maximize performance. Already underway, this optimization currently affects seven developers using the Unreal Engine to create 20 games already in the works and with many more to come. |

I haven't read too much about E3 this year due to time constraints, but it seems basically the same as last year from the very brief look I've had. Everyone is somewhat surprised about how much Microsoft don't suck and appear to be looking forward to a variety of impressive-looking Xbox 360 titles. Same as last year, everyone seems completely non-plussed by Sony and their attempts to play catchup to the Xbox. Nintendo are just still there doing their own thing and kicking strong, not competing in the next gen wow factor market but making waves with their innovative controller, funky looking games, and huge franchises.
PC sounds like it might be a little overshadowed at the moment by all this noise from the console people as the cash is getting splashed around, which is a little scary. |

xbox360 and pc can play on the same servers together, as experienced with the game shadow run, from what ive read it works quite well, i believe microsoft plan to have all cross platform multiplayer games working together at some stage which will be sweet, cause if you put your backwards keyboard and mouse 4 life mind set behind you some people prefer controllers and are actually quite good at games with them *such as myself*

What I should of said is whether the PC and console can be jointly written for to play against each other on gaming platforms. Now that every console deal has online gaming these days. Also whether both gaming platforms could play together in the same network stage. i believe thats what id's tech5 is capable of doing. |

Quite good with controllers? lol. From what I have read they have retarded up the control system on shadowrun to give the xbox duds a chance.

From what I have read they have retarded up the control system on shadowrun to give the xbox duds a chance.Actually, they didn't. The cross-hair is simply less focused/accurate when turning like in every other FPS. Because a mouse lets you turn faster than the controller, the PC player has to hold still longer to get a straight-shot. |
