With the current popularity of the Wii and DS, Nintendo still aren't content with the gamer base they currently have. To that end, New Titles that appeal to an ever widening audience are being released, which are sure to net Nintendo new recruits to the gaming world.
"Games like Wii Sports and the original Brain Age proved anyone can pick up a video game system and immediately have fun," says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "We're building on that foundation with games and accessories appealing to our current fan base and drawing in even more new players."
Some of the titles to watch out for on the Wii -
  • Wii Fit
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Check Mii Out Channel
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

And on the DS
  • Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day!
  • The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
  • Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day

i hate to say it.. but unless they f*** brawl up it's gonna be a hardcore game not a casual one... well it can be casual but you'll get rolled :D

It's a shame that Zelda: Phantom Hourglass also aimed at the more 'casual' market - It's very easy compared to Link to the Past or Zelda 64.. Still fun + the touch controls are awesome, just would've been nice to see a Hard Mode added in..

IGN asked Eiji Aonuma, the director of the Zelda series, his thoughts on adding a hard mode to Zelda titles. His response...
Q: Have you ever considered making varying levels of difficulty in Zelda games?
A: I understand the varying difficulty idea, but with Zelda my goal is always to create something that will appeal to new and core users. It's about creating something that will appeal to a vast audience.

I guess that's a no, pity since I'm finding recent Zeldas quite easy. Once you have 5+ hearts, link feels almost invincible.

Certainly a HARDCORE game

And finally, what's with the Zapper costing $20US, the thing doesn't even have any electronics in it.

i think some people have missed the point with teh whole "nintendo targetting casual audience" nintendo are saying that as a software/game developer thats there target, but other companys that make games for there system can still do what ever the f*** they want, which is really important to take note of. cause really nintendo have never made that many hardcore style games to begin with.

I'm hanging for my copy of Scarface (released here on the 17th) for Wii.

Running around swearing as Tony Montana & killing cock-a-roaches is going to rock...

It was a silly dig a the bubbly style of the latest stage to be reveled, not the graphics or the difficulty.
