Apple have released a beta version of their Safari browser for Windows. You can download it from the Safari website (no local mirror as the EULA prohibits redistribution).

just installed it

doesn't seem much different to any other browser, certainly not twice as fast

my biggest suprise was that you could actually fullscreen the main window, apple is really making progress obviously

Its crap, thanks.

Opera > Firefox > IE > Safari.

How do they figure that its 2x the speed of other browsers? It took forever to load qgl.

Alright just gave it a go.

1. How the f*** do you turn Font smoothing off? The lowest option is "Low". I already have ClearType on and everything is fuzzy as hell now.

2. Browser is s***-slow

3. No tooltips? I have to click unknown buttons to know what they do.

4. Options menu is very limited.

Might just stick to FF. Beta-testing isn't exactly fun.

I thought it was sort of cool. Fonts look a bit weird, like parabol says, really fuzzy. Ran OK for me, better than I expected - feels nice and light. At the end of the day though, not enough features for me to want to ditch FF.
