Nintendo have announced that if they sell any more Nintendo DS systems in Australia, the entire country might simply grind to a halt. Well, not in so many words. But they have sold 550,000 units, and shipped over 400,000 "Touch! Generation" titles.

The other big news is that they have a new release of Brain Trainer, one of the best selling games in existence with over 12 million people using it daily:
Now Nintendo is preparing to release More Brain Training(TM) from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain?, on July 5th for SRP$49.95. Packed with all new brain training techniques. With more new ways to train your brain, this title is the sequel to the already successful Dr Kawashima's(TM )Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?. Over 12 million people globally are currently including it in their daily lives.

Players can train their brain through exercises such as Memorise 5 x 5, Speedy Symbols, Correct Change, Days Missing Symbols, Masterpiece Recital or the classic Rock, Paper, Scissors, that features voice recognition.
It also has multiplayer features using the DS wireless functionality.

Interesting. I've got a couple of those brain training games myself but I can't see the great interest in them, I'd actually much rather they bought out a puzzle/problem solving version rather than how many maths questions can you answer in 30secs but each to their own.

I'm guessing your talking about "Big Brain Academy", which consisted of nothing but "how many can you answer in 60secs" questions. I got that one thinking it was the version that was selling so well (Brain Training). Turns out it was sort of a sequal and it sucked.

yeah I got that one and I think the other one was Brain Age or something, pretty much the same kind of stuff, i thought the big brain academy one was better though. I noticed there was another one in stores the other day, can't remember what it was called though.

I love my DS...not really impressed with the brain training games though, but I can see how they have a wide appeal.

I've been playing Phoenix Wright : Ace Attorney recently, it's great fun! GO BUY IT! Also, Pokemon, woot!!

My game of the moment is Ulitmate Ghouls 'n' Ghosts on the PSP, it's so new and purdy lookin but has a totally old school feel at the same time. Love it.

I've been playing Elite Beat Agents on my DS, it has me hooked with its crazy dancing secret agent shenanigans.
