Activision have revealed some new details about the next title in the everlasting gobstopper series of gaming brands - Tony Hawks' Proving Ground:
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground features deeper customization than ever before, including a Video Editor with full-featured editing tools and visual effects for creating "epic skate videos," and a fully customizable online Skate Lounge where players can skate with friends in the ultimate pad. In addition, players will have the freedom to skate from single player to online seamlessly, as well as utilize new gameplay mechanics such as skateable terrain altering and building, and Bowl Carving, delivering the most empowered skating experience ever.
There's also a couple of new screenies of the game, which will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.

Sorry trog, forgot that these posts show up on the ausgamers home page. Anyway, I think they really need to take a break for a couple years at least. Project 8 was out what, like 6 months ago? I don't think gamers have cared about the TH series since no 3.

nps :)
I don't think gamers have cared about the TH series since no 3.
Sales figures would probably disagree with you - it's one of those massive self-sustaining franchises now by the looks. They put in just enough new stuff into each version to make it worth the update for the hardcore fans.

Visuals on this one look pretty awesome though.

I just got P8 for the XBOX360 on the weekend & Im quite liking it, though I have some serious gripes with it:

- They removed moves from THAW, & replaced it with... nothing.
- ALOT of the specials were removed
- The focus button is holding down L Stick, which is just stupid as you stuff you balance half the time, should have been mapped to "Back" button, I could live with having to view "video phone" through start menu
- They changed the *DUN* special sound in single player (That just plain crimimal :)
- Can't use your created character in Multiplayer, which is just bizzare as they are prefabed characters anyway

That said it's still a TH game which I enjoy, & they've definately made the "sick" challenges quite hard which is good

I think the video edit mode is brilliant idea, haven't had proper replays since THPS2!
