The eagerly anticipated new verison of Ubuntu Linux has been released, taking it to v7.04 (or if you prefer the confusing cutesy nomenclature, 'Feisty Fawn'). The official release page has links to the various downloads, or you can try the Australian mirror.

Bit short on disk space so I can't mirror them all right now, but you can grab what I'm guessing will be the most popular one - the i386 Desktop version, directly from AusGamers.

Sweet hopefully it has better (as in more noob proof) support for RAID cards!
Let me know how it goes guys, need to reinstall the work server and get the RAID going properly again so might as well do it on the new ubuntu if its stable!

back in the day when win95 was crap linux had a niche.. but xp is stable for me.. so changing os seems like inviting trouble...

the future looks scary.. i'm going back inside now..

Yeh Beryl is supersweet - I've only had a quick look and it looks great. I'm not sure if it's integrated as tightly as the effects in Mac OS X but it's an awesome start and it gives users eye candy above and beyond what Vista offers.

yer, not sure if it actually serves a useful purpose, but its some of the best looking effects ive ever seen

old mate at work had it running on his new asus lappy with nvidia GO hardware (i think) and it was extremely sexy

the rain effect, cube and desktops rubberly flopping into place

it was the most exciting thing ive seen since the 3d task switcher in vista
