2K Games and Bethesda have announced the expansion for Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls 4: Shivering Isles:
Shivering Isles features more than 30 hours of new gameplay and allows players to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion - the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles adds to the existing world of Oblivion so players can continue playing with their existing saved game and character, or create an all new character to explore the new content.
Check the full press release for more info.

awesome! back into cyrodill i go for another week or so! :D i have almost finished the knights of the nine expansion so this should be nicely timed! :D

ticman: oblivion has nuthn to do with wow. oblivion is single player only.

edit. i wonder how they calculate the number of hours in such a game? my oblivion character has like 166hours playtime & i haven't done a half of the game content :P

The dark brotherhood missions were incredible and I would pay good money for them to expand on that a bit.

thats a lot... have you not been warping anywhere?

at first i didn't... the landscape was so lush & fresh for a computer game that i just walked or rode everywhere :D i admit i didnt play the game with an eye to efficient leveling... i just enjoyed it :P spent like the first 8-10hous just wandering around shooting arrows at pretty much anything.

rekn. the first missions i did were the dark brotherhood ones, chose vampirism... very cool storyline :D

& yeh ya see some funny stuff in oblivion :P a mate had done all the mages guild missions so he was head of the mages guild & was starting to go through the thieves guild missions. he got to a mission where you have to steal the staff of the head of the mages guild... stops talking to the thief that gave him the mission, pulls out his staff of the mages guild, mission complete :P

i love the alchemy in oblivion :D i can make poisons that do 25damage for 38seconds & deliver it with a bow that does a '75% weakness to poison' on hit.. kills anything with one arrow. :D

I didn't even know u could warp so I got fukn bored playing it lol!

What's the best character to use in it? I only tried soldier/warrior whatever, and it got a bit boring having to chop everything up. Spells seemed a lot easier.

i went assassin class coz i loved the sneaking & poisoning & assassinating :D i had a go at a warrior n it was boring as hell for the combat... power-attack, block till yur fatigue is max, repeat. the best bet with oblivion is not to pay too much attention to what yur class is called & just do all the skills. use blades & blunts & magic & sneaking n everything! :P

Yeah, I didn't really go for that either. Especially since I made alchemy one of my primary skills, then messed around for ages mixing potions, which kept levelling me up, but my magic and sword and blocking and armour skills, and all that other stuff I needed to stay alive, weren't being levelled. But because I was now a higher level, the monsters were tougher, and I was getting completely and utterly owned.

Yeah that monster levelling was a bit of a mistake, but there was a feeling of accomplishment when you hit level 40 and you became uber enough to kill anything without troubles. Infact with the items I had all I needed to do with mudcrabs and rats and stuff was let them kill me for a bit and my reflect damage items killed them :P

i know i use to play the one before oblivion (elder scrolls i think :S) and i thought it was awesome, then wow came along and dragged me in with all the pretty colours and broken promises.

Luckily i dont play wow either now, these kind of games are too addictive and time comsuiming.
