A new single player demo for Xpand Rally has been released, and you can grab it locally from AusGamers. The contents: The demo contains two single player racing tracks with both the arcade and simulation modes enabled. Malaysia will give you the opportunity to test your car's handling on asphalt and gravel, while sliding through grooves, making long jumps and maxing out on long straights. Italy is a technically demanding track. Huge and rapid altitude changes, narrow roads and multiple curves require attention and supreme car handling skills. Banal mistakes will cause hitting roadside rocks, walls and other objects. You'll also find two vehicle to choose from. You're free to tune them and change their skins as you see fit. Each car can be set individually for every race track. Download the demo now and experience what a real rally feels like.Update: this MAY include StarForce, so install at your own risk while we try to verify. |

I tried it out on a box at work. Wasn't overly impressed, much rather play flatout2. The only thing i thought was kinda cool is that every once in a while you'll see an animal run across the road up ahead of you like a deer but that was about it. I still rekon the original sega rally was the best rally game I've played but I've never been too much in those types of games anyway.

Was wondering about whether some of the previous starfarce protected games that have swapped over to steam if they still contain Starforce - admittedly, I haven't been all that proactive in finding out.
I'm thinking that if a developer/distributor wished to distance themselves from Starfarce then they should make it a little bit more obvious so as to attract back interested punters who were put off by Starfarce in the beginning. |

Richard Burns Rally is the best in the genre! but it a simulator *cough* not a game so its bloody hard to play, but when you do master it its great.
Just like rFactor takes a bit of getting used to. |
